Isn't there something called Freedom of Speech? It's obvious the story is fiction if it involves ZOMBIES! Plus, the kid said that in his story he threatens absolutely no one. I hope the kid can find a good lawyer and counter-sue all these idiots who messed with him.

The courts will throw this out. It was basically a cop trying to not look stupid by looking retarded.

Basically I'm thinking the grandparents read an exerpt that said, "And as the deformed man drug his limp leg behind him down the corridor he came upon Suzy Snifflebottom and ravaged her new prom dress."

They then reported him to the cops saying the kid was a terrorist. The cops apprehend the kid and take him in without reading the book. The arresting officer then reads the book after they take him in (At which point the kid MUST be booked...If you're arrested for anything you MUST go through the booking process) and realizes his mistake. But instead of saying that the grandparents are two f*ckwads he instead leans toward the Liberal approach of "Socially maladjusted child needs help."

So it's not the state of Kentucky it's two old people and one cop with no PR abilities.

did you guys notice at the bottom of the page, one of the other headlines read "man convicted of killing baby will be returned to kentucky"...wtf? so i can commit murder and the great state of KY won't have a problem with me, but i'll be lynched if i talk too loudly about my new zombieninjapirate novel? hell, i give props to the kid who wrote the story just based on the fact that he's from KY, AND is literate despite that Razz

I understand why everyone is automatically jumping to the kids defense, I would as well, but there is no reason to condemn the law enforcement for what they did, the grandparents certainly.
This is somewhat of a familiar incident to me, since I have once had the cops called on me by school officials for something similar, although in my case it was a bit more skewed towards, shall we say, not looking good for me. Anyways, school shootings and the like have always been a major concern, especially in inner city schools that really do have an honest right to be afraid of students bringing guns to school. Especially after Columbine, the police take any report of possible behavior very seriously, they have no choice, and very good reason to do so. However, the kids grandparents, are either very ignorant, or simply didn't like the kid and wanted to get rid of him.
