Story time! About two weeks ago I guess, I started having really ban pains in my right breast. And I had also lots 6 lbs that week without effort, and was just not feeling well. Soo~ I went to the doctor, and he checked out my breast and told me that he'd found a lump. He's sure it's nothing serious, probably just a cyst. But I still have to go for a sonogram on Monday, 21st. I'm doing okay, but I'm still kinda nervous, you know? It's a serious sorta thing. I'm just filled with a bunch of what-if's right now, and I'm wondering if anyone has been through anything similar? Could there be needles involved if they find something? I'm just worrying a lot...Like usual ^^;

My sister had surgery last Friday because the tissue in her breasts tightened into knots. She had six of these lumps, all a pretty good size, that she had to get removed because they hurt like crazyness.

I don't think there are many needles involved-- my sister flips out like mad if needles are involved, and I don't remember hearing about that. I think when they're just trying to figure out what it is, it's mostly x-rays. They might possibly take a sample of the fluid in there if they think there is fluid, but I'm not sure.

You'll be okay. They'll probably take a sonogram or x-ray to see what's there, and most likely do a needle biopsy, where they use a syringe to draw a sample of tissue/fluid.
And if they do find something, it's not the end of the world. Several friends of my family have had breast cancer, and through treatment have had it go into remission. They've got normal lives.

I think I'm gonna pass out ^^; *dizzy* The thought of a biopsy makes me feel just...woah...Needles send me into hysterics ^^;
So physically, I might be okay...mentally, I might just die

I'm trying to take this little experience to show those who know me that I'm a lot stronger than I think, but of course I'm still worried. I'm just happy to know that so many people are around to support me. That makes me feel so much better. ^_^
