I know this isn't a religion thread, god knows we don't want one of those, but what's up with all of these people not praying....don't they believe in something? and can't they ask their believer to bring good wishes and help this kind woman out? wouldn't that be their prayer??? *confused

Good old Nichiren Daishonin. That helped my dad through some tough times, even though he no longer practices it. I was just thrilled to see that someone else has heard of that particular sect of Buddhism that gets overshadowed by the larger branches.
At any rate, Therin, your friend is in my prayers. But I have to say, Shino is right. What you wrote was a prayer. What everyone wrote was a prayer. Just because you may not believe in something that someone else does, doesn't mean you can't or don't pray. Any time you ask for guidance, any time you ask for strength, any time you ask for forgiveness, any time you invoke spirits or anything that you choose to believe in, that's a prayer. Wishes, all of that. Whether or not you believe in God, or gods, or anything...I'm sure you pray, even though you may call it something else. All I'm trying to get at, without causing a debate, is that prayer is universal. |

*sigh* Belief is something that everyone does, regardless. It is something that we cannot help, and something that mankind has been doing since we could make cognative thoughts. As everyone has said, you pray. When you pray, you express belief in something. for some people, sitting down with God in their own private time, and others, its just asking the day that it gives them fortune. As shino mentioned, everything you express on this page is a prayer. A wish. I'm sure you all have made a wish before. A prayer is a wish. Every time you guys expressed a feeling, your praying.
Therin, you've got my prayers with you. Without prayers, we dont have belief, and without belief, we aren't human, nor living. May you find the strength and wisdom to see that you are praying for her at every waking moment, that you are always wishing for her to be better.
