Indeed. I am sick of the media's portrayal of women. I'll never fit that image.
I'm slightly taller than average (5'7"), rather pear shaped with a ghetto booty, long arms, long torso, long legs, and fat fingers. My stomach is quite pudgy. I have a short neck and tend to have a double chin when I smile. Though my legs are long, they're large from years of soccer, gymnastics, and just running around being a kid. My hair tends to frizz and do whatever it wants no matter what I do.

And boys aggravate me. A lot. Please look at my face, not my bosom. I may have boobs, but they do not define me. I'd like to have an intelligent conversation with someone who appreciates a girl with intelligence, street smarts, personality, and views of her own. Do not be intimidated by my grades. I enjoy relaxing, laughing, going out and having a good time just as much as the next person. I say and do stupid things too. I can be just as immature as you can.

Teenage boys are so very irritating. Needless to say, my best male friend is 23.

I agreed wif everyone on this Shan, we may never talk before but believe me I know few ppls who find you attractive n cute anyway dont bother what other peoples thinks cos in this world, we cant pleased everyone.. the important thing is that you're happy bout yourself.. genuine person will like you for who you are and not what you are.. besides you have fam, bf, friends who cares and love you..

I'm sorry. I wasn't aware this came off as me asking for people to tell me I'm attractive. I wasn't. My attractiveness or lack thereof really isn't the issue here.

I'm more concerned that people in general shouldn't worry about how they look so much as how they act. It is much more important to be a good person than to be attractive, and, at the risk of sounding rather arrogant: I think I'm a good person.

It means so much more to me to be able to think that than it ever would to think I'm physically attractive.

Oh Shan. You're cute! Not to mention the best big sister a girl with no big sister could ask for! A lot of the media is starting to come around. The tenie boper queens will always be an integral part of pop culture, but there are still other people, like Queen Latifa or Kirsty Alley who are far from being little anorexic twigs but still showing that bigger girls can be absolutly beautiful too. Marylin Monroe was like a size 14 I think, and she was considered to be the sexiest woman in the world. ^.^ Or Diane Keaton who would rather dress to suit her own personal sense of style rather than be bound by the views of society. Those probably aren't the best examples, but they are proof that people really are starting to fall in love with personality rather than looks. No one is perfect but everyone is beautiful in their own way. Looks are only a tiny part of the whole equasion. And yeah, I know I sound like a total cheese ball. Confused

I agree with most everyone. It's not important what others think especially the media and all. However, it's as equally important if not more to be comfortable with yourself and know in your heart you're a beautiful person!!
It took me a long time to realize that I am a beautiful person inside and out. Although I have just recently become comfortable as I am. I think it is sooo much more important than having others think you are attractive. We have to do things for ourselves to make us feel like a million bucks and beautiful! I've had some help getting comfortable in my skin, thanks to ming!!, but I've also been going to the gym and working out and that makes me feel like a million bucks!! Like I'm the most beautiful!!
