Katana/wakizashi would be really hard, but from what I hear, Miyamoto Musashi was strong as hell, too, to beat a great swordsman using nothing but a heavy wooden oar. |
But I've held quite a few kertana in my day and they really aren't all that heavy. I don't think, if you're fast enough with them, that dual-weilding would be that difficult. I think the coordination to be able to use them together effectively would be the challenge. |

People definately are trained to use one handed techniques. Now this isn't an ego thing becaue I still have trouble with one armed moves,....practice practice practice I guess!

You think -katanas- are heavy? Remind me to let you hold my scimitars sometime.
Then again, scimitars are designed as slashing weapons, to be used to cut through skin and sensitive areas, not to hack people in half or hack off limbs. Therefore, I feel it's okay to use two of them. ^_- |

you also need to realize that Miyamoto Musashi eventually learned to not fight, and to solve battles without having to draw his sword.
He was that good foo!
EDIT: i thnk that maybe if you used a Jitte instead, it would be slightly better, since it's a weapon made to be put into the off hand and defent, whilst still being able to damage if thrusted forward |

A well made katana should not be much longer, and certainly lighter, than any bastard sword, which is designed for 1 or 2 handed use, as is the katana. The way a katana is designed, I much prefer to use it 2 handed, but also my left hand + weapon =not good. |
