Sheep
Genera and species: Ovis aries
Collective Term: A flock of sheep
Description
The affable and meek nature of the sheep personality evokes some derision from the carnivorous, but a grudging respect from its fellow herbivores. Sheep have no real defense mechanisms other than the safety of numbers, so they huddle in the suburbs with like-minded individuals, pooling resources and raising families. They are religious creatures, seeking comfort in the collective reassurance of the church where they are quite content to be labeled as flock. When confronted by obstacles, they hate to make decisions -- deferring instead to their partners or their religious leaders. While this may help the sheep maintain a superficial sense of well being, it leads to the loss of identity that typifies the sheep persona.

Their reputation for lack of vision and ambition is well deserved. Nonetheless, they are an enormously successful species and their ilk are well represented. A prime factor in their success is their ability to concentrate on resource acquisition and money-making. Preferring to let other animals perform the time-consuming jobs of philosophizing and defending the community, they quietly go about building their family.

Physically, they are nondescript and uninspiring. Dressing conservatively (in wool coats), they draw as little attention to themselves self as possible. Largely disinterested in politics -- viewing it as time taken from work -- they respect the law and never question authority.

Sheep are content to stand in the shadow of their mates and are willing to make sacrifices for the long-term good of the relationship. By living on the deferred happiness plan, they consider boredom and subservience to be necessary evils in a successful relationship. When problems crop up in their relationships, sheep tend to assume the role of victim and have trouble with confronting their partners directly. However, from their mate's point of view, the sheep is a wonderfully compliant partner whose quiet loyalty and sturdy body make for some wild and wooly nights.

Often attracted to the dog personality -- probably because of its commanding voice and leadership skills -- the sheep's willingness to compromise its sense of tranquility for the powerful benefit of being dominated by the dog, results in a bittersweet alliance. But ultimately this match is ill fated. The over-controlling nature of the dog eventually exhausts the poor sheep, and the relationship simply collapses.

The sheep's desire to avoid conflict is often the catalyst for discord. By avoiding confrontation and simply acquiescing to its partner's wishes, everyone's feelings are simply swept under the rug. Worse yet, this puts the sheep in the position of becoming an annoying martyr with a moral superiority complex.

Cottontail

Genera: Sylvilagus
Collective Term: A gambol of cottontails

Description
A cottontail is a small, gentle individual with a tendency for shyness and whose first instinct is to run at the first sign of danger. Its extraordinarily sensitive senses are always on the lookout for any impending peril and they get their names from their fluffy snow-white bottoms. They are astoundingly cute and rely heavily on their soft personalities and vulnerable appearance to succeed.

Although they are bright, they often hide their intelligence when it interferes with their primary method of survival -- cuteness! Almost all mammal personalities find them to be irresistibly attractive and they rarely need to employ their personal resources to succeed in their careers or relationships. And while their gentle natures make for kind and thoughtful partners, their propensity to follow-the-leader makes them somewhat lackluster lovers.

Unbridled passion might be the cottontail's promise, but its tendency to go with the flow makes this bunny's love life predictable and submissive. Why do people love cottontails so much? Perhaps because they put the feelings of others before their own. As its refuge and sanctuary, the cottontail's partner always comes first -- even before children and siblings -- but this doesn't mean that cottontails are desperate for mates; they choose their partners deliberately and carefully.

The cottontail shares a love of open spaces with its pals the mountain goats, zebras, and horses, but prefers the more staid pursuits that come with beavers, moles and sheep. While there's a superficial attraction to lions, wolves, and wildcats, these aggressive and predatory beasts throw them into a state of excruciating hypervigilance. Heartened by the communal spirit that large families provide, cottontails put a high premium on togetherness and quality family time. These strong maternal instincts explain why cottontails are forever plying their children with food and babying them well beyond the time they should have left the nest.

Fox
Genera and species: Vulpes Vulpes
Collective Term: A skulk of foxes

Description
Appealing and cerebral and of average size, the fox is a close relative of both the wolf and dog personalities and displays typical canine qualities of loyalty, passion and creativity. Largely misunderstood to be a shy, retreating individual, it's the fox's unique stature as a small carnivore that defines its survival strategy. Because it cannot succeed in the world using brute force alone, it must rely on its sharp mind and engaging personality to garner resources, and it consequently spends a lot of time in its head -- giving the impression that it's trying to outsmart its friends. So the fox is often surprised to learn that its intellectual pursuits are intimidating.

So, the fox tempers its serious nature with a sardonic sense of humor and engaging playfulness while interacting with its eclectic community. It expects others to be as honest about their strengths and shortcomings as it is of its own, and while these high expectations don't make the fox a snob, it expects its friends to first demonstrate their worthiness before returning the favor with loyalty and devotion.

Foxes are typically successful in the work place but their competitiveness and ambition sometimes makes coworkers feel belittled. They would never deliberately take advantage of others, but their single-mindedness often blinds them to their feelings. So they thrive in their own businesses and like to surround themselves with family and friends in these ventures. Although they demand consensus in all decisions, they dominate discussions and steer the plans to reflect their own agenda.

A discussion with a fox is invariably stimulating and challenging. Its great curiosity and worldly experience makes it a wonderful conversationalist and it's able to hold forth on a number of different topics with ease. Sometimes, however, the fox will view a conversation as a competitive challenge, which proves to be off-putting and annoying to its companions.

Most sounds about right.. People have compared me to this little critter before. XD

Dog
Genera and species: Canis Familiars
Collective Term: A pack of dogs
Description
There's something about a dog's eyes -- warm and expressive it'll charm your socks off every time. Dog personalities feature many of the characteristics of the canine family and are some of the kindest, warmest creatures in the animal kingdom, and although they border on the predictable, they're never boring or eccentric.

Dog personalities come in all shapes and sizes and it's difficult to identify their species by physical appearance alone and the best way to recognize one, is by its dominant trait; gregariousness. Usually, they are small to medium sized individuals, good looking and in fine physical shape. Energetic and eager-to-please, they have an overabundance of energy and spend a great deal of time at play and are frisky and happy even when hard at work. Demonstrative with people that they love, they readily display distaste for those they dislike.

Highly tactile with an exceptionally advanced sex drive, the dog has a reputation of acting like . . . a dog, even with casual acquaintances. But, chivalry is not dead in the dog's world and the average dog puts its mate on a pedestal, making it feel like the most important person in the world. This can be an exquisite delight for individuals who require a lot of attention, but to some, this concern can be quite overbearing. Take the case of the feline personalities whose need for independence clashes with the dog's in-your-face affection. The resulting friction often results in ferocious cat-and-dog fighting.

Dogs are strongly drawn to the small, passive animal personalities like mice, sheep and cottontails, but these attractions are superficial, for once the chase is over they quickly lose interest and move on. Their best unions are with those capable of appreciating their strong, affectionate companionship, and wolves, foxes and bears are their natural soul-mates.

As eager to please as a dog can be, it can also be a bit of a moocher who believes thou shalt share is the eleventh commandment. So, a dog wouldn't hesitate in splitting its sandwich or sharing its home, but would have no shame in demanding reciprocation.
