Ok, I moved into a new place and we are not getting cable. I want to start using netflix to get movies and shows but I know that sometimes I will not be able to watch the movies that arrive soooo I was thinking of setting up a box to rip and play DVDs. I have been ripping DVDs and playing the video from the decoded DVD files for years I just have never setup a box to do just that one function.
Here is my question, what is the big deal with XP media center edition?
Note that I have a receiver that I will be using for the sound with surround sound.
Are there any special hardware technologies that will work better with XP MCE?
Should I bother with XP MCE? |

Anywhos.. since im your dang roomie ill tell you this much. XP Media Center utilizes hyperthreading to the max and allows you to play a better, cleaner, crisper video and sound. Other than that .. and some special effects.. there is nothing different. Let me know when you want to start this box. I'll pitch in what i can for HDD's |
