I feel guilty, I laughed at that. If they do make it harder for people to jump off that bridge, they will find another bridge, or just a whole 'nother way. However, anything to help, I guess.
Good idea, Dai, but they didn't. Pity.
I do believe people have the right to kill themselves, just like they should have a right to marry whom ever they want, or slit their tongues serpent-like, or something. As long as it doesn't hurt someone else, but that is always debated, and can never be clearly outlined. |

Well it sure isa better idea then what they did here in Montreal, install fences that forbids people to jump claiming ''it will make people think twice before jumping, and they'll give up the idea''... Yeah right, now that it's been announced, I dought any suicidal person will go to the bridge just to walk back home after telling himself ''o crap, I can't kill myself, well I'll start enjoying life from now on!'', na, instead of ending their lives in the river, minimum of people noticing, and likely without jamming the trffic either (perhaps slowing it down a bit), they'll go trow themselve in the subway, and now that'll slow down everyone, for a while. I'm not approving suicide at all, but as much as I believe that this isn't inevitable, their WILL always be some in our sociaty, and if it is to happen, well the least sociaty can do is help them by showing them the way out of it. That panel might help, but a fence like we have, that just moves the problem from one place to an other, and makes it worse. |

maybe not physically, but uhh, thats pretty hard mentally to that persons friends/family |

Physical pain can be easily recorded, but you're never really sure with mental pain, which is why it's hard to count. People have different degrees of tolerance, and all have different mental pains and ways of showing it, unlike how our bodies all bleed the same. It's why I said pain is never clearly outlined, but I'm getting off subject, sorry. |
