I have a 2005 Mazda3 and am very happy with it (take that, Shino! It may look like a Ford, but runs a hell of a lot better than one). It drives like a dream. My dad also owned a Mazda about 15 years ago or so, and he gave it to my cousin. That car went through a lot before it finally died (after hitting deer #2--Mazdas are small game vehicles).
My car is currently in the shop because of a problem with the wheel bearings. It's really nothing I could have predicted or done anything about.

My dad currently has an Infiniti I30. We've had it for about 5 or 6 years now and haven't had too many problems with it. The one major problem I remember was the timing sensor (which tells the spark plugs when to fire) going bad, which, coincidentally enough, was the morning of AWA 2004.

Uhm hate to burst your bubble, but a friend of mine who worked at mazda for a very brief period before getting laid off being the newest person there said they were replacing MAJOR parts in most the 4 cyl cars using the ford engines that werent even a year old, so your just lucky for now. Plus look at the RX-8s that are on the 2nd or 3rd engine already :p

I've only owned 2 cars Both mazdas. The first was a 90 626 and I bought it for $2000. After it was all said and done with me blowing the engine (rod through the block and exploded dipstick into the radiator) I spent $1500 on tires and brakes and randomess for it.

I now own a Mazda Protege 5. Drives awesome.

Now, back onto the subject of car troubles. I just put a nice HUGE dent smack dab in the middle of my back hatch. I was backing out of a driveway and didn't turn hard enough to avoid the pickup parallel parked directly across the street (what sort of idiot does that anyway? ARG!) I'm so mad at myself. The pickup has absolutely no damage.
I'm really worried about what it's going to cost to fix the dent. It's not too bad, it's big but that's it. No tears or anything. The metal's not really creased, but there's one spot I'm worried about directly below my back windshield. The scratches aren't a problem; the metal's not gouged, so I can hit them with some touch-up paint and they'll be fine.
I'm really worried about cost. I don't have that much money, and the body shop charged $700 to fix a relatively small dent in my mom's bumper. Help

UPDATE: Well I'm completely screwed. My dad came home and said that it's about a $2000 repair job because the entire door needs to be replaced. I thought it wasn't that bad of a dent, but the metal's rolled under underneath the back windshield. So my poor car is staying as it is for awhile. Unless people want to donate money to the "Repair Satine's Car" fund.

mitsubishi's are really good cars you just have to take care of them plus its not american so you can get more money for them when you try to sell them
