That had been waiting for a case for well over a month.

Well we finally got all the parts in and got the sucker together.

Here's what she got.

AMD Athlon XP 2900+
1.5 G DDR 400 RAM
250G 7200RPM HD
Dual Layer DVD Writer
GeForce 6800GT

I'll have pix of the build up soon... but let's say this.

I installed WoW on it, jumped it up to 1600x1200, turned all the graphics all the way up, and it still ran with no choppiness at all.

Last night K-chan was over and played around in Ogremar and it was flawless!

Pix to come soon.

It's AGP.

We went the cheap route with her machine this time around since in 1 year or 2 when the new windows comes out, everyone will need a 64bit processor, I think that is the time to go with PCI-E

It is a beast. #4 in the GeForce Lineup. And that's only b/c the 7800s just came out.

In the beginning, there were parts...

Then, the mother board goes in...

Then, the processor goes in and the board gets powered and hooked to the case...

Then... Shino forgets to take pix of the rest of the box. Hopefully K-chan will come along and put up a pic of the finished product.

That's possibly the crappiest processor fan I've ever seen.

Also looks like you need one or two installed on the back as well.

What kind of case did you get? How many watts is the power supply?

Who is the president of Burundy?

This is the truth!!!! I've never put together a compy from scratch, but whenever I'm upgrading my storebought the #1 Thing I hate is trying to install new memory. dunno how many times I've scraped my hands on some random node trying to force that crap in there, lol.

Why is the processor fan crappy. It's a standard heatsink mounted fan.

The case is an Achilles case and it has 3 fans built in. The processor is 550W.
