Checked all fans (CPU, Chassis, Rear, Video Card) and all are running fine. Not a heating issue. Not the processor (they either work or they don't), ditto with the RAM. Place where I bought the parts from thinks it's the motherboard and is going to replace it next week. |

Hmmm...it's amazing the number of random combinations of computer parts that can come together and not work like they're supposed to. !
I think the place is right for replacing you motherboard, although if it's the model of motherboard in combination with the particular ram and processor you're using, you may just run into the same problem again. Or it could just be the motherboard. Have you written down the serial number? If not, when you get it back, write down the serial and model number, and if you have the same problem again, when you RMA it (return it to the company/manufacturer) don't let the place you bought it from do it, do it yourself, that way you can request a new serial number.
What brand of motherboard do you have, by the way, and is there any way to tell which vender the store bought it from?
I used to work RMA (return materials authorization) for a small computer company, so if you would like any help, I'd be glad to assist you as much as I can =) |
