Well I'm on the Huntdown for a new video card.
I have my eyes on This right now.
What I'm looking for is Geforce preferably.
256 memory.
Cheaper the better.
Right now that looks pretty good in terms of Cost vs Effectiveness.
Any suggestions? |

I personally would stick with BFG cards, just becuase they are warrentied for life. Also I've never had a problem with my 5600 and I've had it for quite some time. |

The 6800 is easily the most powerful card under $200.
I've been looking at the 6600 GT. It's almost as good as the 6800. Not quite. But it's also $50 cheaper.
BFG is good. But XFX is also good. I've bought them before. All of their cards come with a lifetime warrenty. |

Yea I love BFG, my last card was a 5200 FX.
XFX are warrantied for life too which is very nice.
I -might- think about saving my moolah and getting a 7800GT around Christmas or Early next year. |

I've got a socket 775.
I have a free PCI Express slot,
I'm really thinking about it. |

There are still several decent Socket 754 motherboards available with PCI-Express. I was actually shopping them at Newegg recently. I'm using an Athlon 64 3000+ socket 754, which I am happy with, so I was going to go with a PCI-E mobo. They're just not really full-featured, so you're going to be limited to midrange boards.
Ultimately I decided to stick with AGP 8X awhile longer, until the middle of next year anyways. I have a pretty stable hardware combination that works well, and I'm hesitant to change something if it ain't broke. |

I'm partial to ATI Radeon cards...While not waranteed for life I have never had a problem with my card and it's still $189 in stores and it's over 3 years old.
I did have to replace the fan but now the sucker looks even cooler. |

I like ATI as much as I like Intel, which is not very much. |
