FF6 definitly, so many ways to finish it, so mayny hidden secret characters, weapons and armor, nice attention to each and every character in the game. Definitly my fav.
I wonder if FF6 had FFX's graphic, people would still prefer FFX, or any of the other FF. |

ok. lesse, ff7 was my first final fantasy game i ever played, and because of that, it's my fav. second fave is ff9, then ff8 (really hard, funny) then ff3(6), then ff2(4) then 5 then 10, then tactics. >.> number 1 is really long and time-consuming, loved the music, tho!
all in all, the ff series is the best rpg series i ever played! |

shouldn't be if you have BroadBand. I have been playing SOCOM now for a while and it's very fast. Every once in a while you get someone on there that uses a bad connection and the lag is hell, but besides that, I think it should work pretty well.
Guess we will see.

FF11? I'm not touching that Everquest ripoff. Yawn. Snooze.
My personal favorite is FF7. For some reason it left the longest lasting impression. It didn't necessarily have the best story (FF6) or best gameplay (FFX), but the characters just seem to have a special place in my heart, ya know? |

Well, (you'll probably find out how mcuh I love FF8 sooner or later)
Everything to do with FF8, I love this game, the only thing I would change is "some" of the characters,
Favorite Character: Squall
Nice Storyline: FF8
Graphics: I don't mind graphics, I think there the worst part of a game, of course good graphics is good, but no essiential, FF8
CHOCOBOS!!!!
FF10 CHOCOBOS!!!! THEY ROCK!!! |

Well anybody who knows me knows that i am a proud supporter of Final Fantasy Tactics. Great story, characters, leveling, everything was great about that game. FFT also gets my vote for final fantasy game most likely to become an anime.
I liked 5 too.
7 was great. I thought that Cloud could have been a stronger char though(what i hear is that they made up for it in Kingdom Hearts). Favorite when it comes to music. Nobuo Uematsu is the BOMBA. I would also like to see a remake, but doubt it will come before i am 21 :p
8 had a great story to it, but I didn't enjoy the gameplay as much as other FFs
9 also had a good story and it was good to see square going back to their roots a little
10 I am still playing, but so far is great in every aspect. The sphere thing is kind of confusing, but is still a good system. I also think that tidus could have been a stronger char too |

FFI - I actually rented this game back when it came out and found it too boring, but then again I was at that point used to playing Castlevania and Mario games, so I don't blame myself. It's the game that started it all, and seriously requires alot of tedious leveling up. People have argued it's the best FF gameplay-wise, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
FFII - The first FF with a great sense of storyline. Four main characters with personalities; a very standard RPG crew: Male fighter, big buff guy, female ranger, and a mage. You're out to beat up Helga! w00t. Seriously, though.. The game also introduced a gameplay system that never really made it, yet was really fun: The keyword system. Basically, like most RPGs, there were words that were SET ASIDE from the rest of the text, and obviously important. If you so desired, you had the option of memorizing that phrase or word. You could then bring up that topic when conversing with another character, and somthing cool might happen ^^ Definately look out for this when Squaresoft brings out FFI & II to the PS1, hopefully to the US like their previous anthologies.
FFIII - The FF game that keeps getting away. Basically it's the spiritual predecessor to FFV and introduced the job system as we know it today. You start out as four brothers in their startout class called Onion Knight (yes, they looked like that wierd ultimate weapon Lulu got.) You could then customize your party entirely from there, somewhat like in FFI, but with more classes and the ability to change once the game started. Pretty fun, but I never played it through.
FFIV - My friend thinks this is the ultimate FF game ever, but I never really caught onto it that much... I guess because I never played it up until about a year ago, and by then I wanted to get on to games that weren't being shodily emulated on the PSX. It still is one hell of an RPG though, and is worth y'time.
FFV - Awesome gameplay that lasted nearly forever if you wanted to get all the jobs leveled up and be uber-buff. An okay storyline, but it worked. It also has my absolute favorite female role: Faris. She's ultimately hardcore. Arrr.
FFVI - Terra. Sabin. Edward. Celes. Gau. Mog. Kefka, etc. There are SO many memorable characters, and their themes, and the locations. BEST ending sequence of any game up until Kingdom Hearts came around. Definately my fave FF game.
FFVII - The first FF game I actually played by myself. FFVI was me watching a friend play thru the game, mainly. But anyways, this is another of the FF games that sticks closely with me. Another lot of memorable characters, and a final sequence that was verre epic and shiny. Give this one a visual and audial makeover on the PS2, and it would be golden.
FFVIII - This game owns me. No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to beat it. I've seen the game all the way through though. Everyone seems to hate this game out of all of 'em, but personally I love it and it ranks up there amongst 6, 7, and 10 for me. True, the main storyline was somewhat goofy, with a sorceress from the future kompressing time an' all that.. But seriously, are other rpg storylines any less goofy when you think about 'em? The thing that most people got caught up on was the idea of all these sorceresses being controlled by the evil person, but you never get to talk to her or see her until the very end. Welcome to the world of Pre-6 FF games, hehe.. Anyways, I personally found the sub-storyline between Laguna, Kiros, Ward, Raine, and Ellone absolutely endearing. And the ending for the game always gets me all nostalgic and happy.
FFIX - Great game, great characters, but somthing just kinda seemed a bit off to me.. It was either the art style or the music that kinda threw me off. Amano did great, as usual, but the person in charge of NPCs and redesigning amano's designs really took them in a direction that wasn't as I would've liked it.. I know it was supposed to be an oldschool memorial, but you really can't emulate the sprite anatomy with polygons too well without things looking funny. I would've rathered a medium-height lanky Zidane with a normal-shaped head, a tall and overpowering Freya, etc.. Kuja was great though. They pulled off a very efeminate male villain that was understandable in motives very well. And then the music was kinda iffy at first, but it really grew on me. I absolutely love the 'rock ballad' of a song "You're Not Alone!" as Zidane's lurching thru the halls of Pandamonium (great metaphore there too) towards the end.
FFX - If it weren't for FFVI, this would be my absolute favorite RPG hands down. Incredible characters, incredible music, incredible gameplay, incredible story. A very welcome deviation from the typical medieval fantasy lore, and a step into a world of japanese islander-inspired mystasism(sp?), and a non-traditional 'evil villain' in a somewhat miyazaki-inspired nature. There's seriously too many good things than I can point out, so I'll just leave it at that. Beautiful ending, too...
FFXI - I used to be really really hyped for this game, and I'm still looking forward to it, but I recently suffer from a lack of money, which has limited alot of my purchases, especially expensive MMORPGs. But maybe once the game reaches stateside, I'll have enough to plunk down on it. One thing I can say is the graphics are incredible for an online game, and the music is hands-down the best you'll hear while traversing the worlds.
FFXII - It's been announced, but we don't know anything about it yet! Garuuu!
And that, as they say, is that. |
