Newegg has a great price on this 17" Flat Panel LCD.

I'm getting one of these to replace my aging 19" KDS CRT monitor. Why the discrepancy in size, you may be asking? The viewable screen size on a 19" CRT monitor is close to 17 inches, while a Flat Panel display size is fairly accurate. Basically both screens are the same size.
This one's only $229, and it has both VGA and DVI. The contrast ratio is 700:1 too, which is a great feature for enhancing text. Acer's a great brand for the price too, they have a reliable track history when it comes to dead pixels. We just ordered 8 similar models for use with terminals at work. It also has a blazing 8ms response time, which means no screen ghosting on those fast-paced games.
Just thought I'd pass it along. It's not the cheapest model out there for the size, but considering the features included it's a great deal. |

I was actually considering that one too. I might still change my mind, but the number of good reviews on the Acer are staggering. It's a tough call.. 8ms versus 12ms, 600:1 contrast versus 700:1.. I'm torn. |

Well I will say this
I have seen no ghosting at all on WoW or Guild Wars. Those are really the only 2 games I play on my comp so there you go. |

Not to mention a 19" CRT weighs about 239847592384759999000000000000 pounds. 
The next time I need to buy a moniter, I'm actually going to save and get one that's REALLY worth the money....such as the cintiq or a monitor that can rotate while I work on graphic designs. |
