While I never had my car broken into, I was once at a concert with some friends up in Hartford, CT. The concert was absolutely incredible, but when we got back to my friend's car, we found that his back window had been smashed. They stole his radio and my cell phone (which I had hidden under my jacket in the back seat because I didn't want to carry it in with me). The worst part of it all was that it was freezing that night, and we had to drive like 2-3 hours to get back to school. And even though we stopped at a convenience store and covered the broken window with duct tape and a garbage bag, it was still freezing. Plus, we didn't get back to school until 4am as a result, and I had class at 8:30 the next morning. All the awesomeness that that concert had been had been just sucked away. |

The idiot that stole my CD Player last Wednesday (as in November 9th) apparently didn't realize some things - not only did they cut the wires from the harness adaptor, they cut the antenna lead and the subwoofer cables, which originate from the player itself. Apparently they didn't realize that they've just rendered the player, while not unusable, very obviously stolen.
This guy was obviously out for a quick buck, too - he stole my cell phone and my Zippo lighters (which were in my leather jacket). He didn't steal my leather jacket, though... |

ah i have a story (kinda) as well. starts out my bf wants to buy a car. goes to the dealership and finds what he wants (a 1993 grand am i believe). comes back a few days later, someone tried to break into it, broke the back passenger side window (little one) and tried to hotwire it, broke quite a few of the things in the interior as well (cupholders and such) he still bought it, but it took close to 1200 to fix it. i mean, that's the pinnacle of retarded. the tires were flat and battery dead, so even if he wanted to drive away with it, it wouldn't have worked. |

I always used to joke about how horrible my bike was in California.
One day I found that my helmet which I had lay resting on my bike was stolen! Amazingly they chose not to steal my bike, I joked about how the theif had good taste. Not the same but I thought it was kinda funny 
Oh and for reference my bike was not chained up or otherwise locked in anyway. |

Wow. I really wish that people didn't behave in such a stupid manner. Theft is not something worth doing, even if it does appear to be an easy way to get money.
