I'm sorry that you're going through this, man. My grandfather was an alcoholic, and my mom's still messed up. She's 51. And I've seen too many friends let drugs pull them down into addiction. Hell, I have addictive tendencies. I know how hard it is to stop once you've started.
I think everyone here has said this, but alcohol won't help. It looks like you're starting to work through this, though, and I'm glad for you. Just keep on going, even though it might seem like you're dragging a tank behind you.
