Go for it! My mother was a single parent in her late twenties before she took on her apprentiship in midwifery. Greg Dean, Real Life comics, just recently went back to culinary school, with his very grown uncle. Do what you love. |

An old friend of mine has a Master's degree in microbiology and was happy as a pig in slop working for a refrigerated shipping company. Not as a consultant, mind you - as a dispatcher. I was originally going for my degree in Computer Science, then found out I'd rather run the company (thus, one day I'm going for my MBA). Like everyone else said, do what you love. My own personal take:
Any job that cannot pay for the therapy it induces is not worth it. |

I don't usually like to give advice but here's my 2cents:
Pursue cooking. If it's something you really love then it will pull you further into itself. Today you are building a magnificent framework. The restaurant was open to you and the opportunity. When you get in you can also make use of your degree by offering help/ suggestions. You won't be a bother if you're trying to help them. (period) In this scenario, you will be around something you love and will be lending to the future of the restaurant. Be persistent. If you've done what you've done so far I don't see that being a problem for you. You are in a position to be an incredible asset to this restaurant in your accomplishments and your desires.
