That's so cool. I wish more people would utilize stop-motion animation. It makes such a great effect.

Wow. Better than asiacopter. Sweet.

And any (good) use of Miserlou gets a thumbs up.

Just chiming in with my nerdiness...

I don't think this was done with traditional stop animation... it looks like video camera footage. They then exported the movie with an app like MJPEG which makes a movie like sequence of jpegs.... one individual file for every frame. Then you just gotta run it through an editor and pick and choose which ones you wanna keep. End result makes it look like stop motion.

Easy excecution, but time consuming as all hell. Great job regardless. Smile

Mm, just not seeing it, Una. Seems as if there'd be too many wasted frames if you did it the way you describe. Too many of the effects would seem to require wasting 29 frames per used frame of animation (if you assume 30fps, more if higher). And according to a few Google hits on the director/author/cameraman (Russell Wyner), he's got training in stop motion and that's what he does.

I did the same thing when I was in TVP. It's was a larger pain in the but back in the analog days. Kids these days.

I'm just talking about the live action sequences... not the actual animation.

In regard to wasted frames, well you can export the movie in whatever framerate you desire... not like it's locked into 30. Personally, for something like this, I'd do 10fps.

Not tryin to argue, man, it was just what it looked like in my eye and experience.

Hey, wouldn't he be listed as a photographer instead of cameraman? Razz

I can see what Una's talking about in terms of the video versus stop-motion part. I kind of agree with him that it does look like there were just some frames chosen to do the work with.
