YeY I got complimentary ticket so I'm goin to watch this on 18 May at 9:30 pm. I heard its full of controversy but I've never read the book yet, well I will after I watch the movie just like I did with 'Memoir of Geisha' (dont' wanna get frustrated with the movie).

I haven't read the book either but will be going to see it on the 18th as well. I know a theatre or too that will be showing it for $5 Smile

I didn't get around to reading the book, but I think I'm going to go see the movie. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun, especially based on what Tobs was telling me after he read the book. If I like it enough, I'll probably pick up the book.

Meh the book is in the FICTION section, the people that take the davinci code BS seriously make me laugh.
I wouldn't waste my money...but i'd go if it was free probably Razz

I saw the movie poster and couldn't help think the hooded guy belongs in Starwars

BUT these sorts of movies spark my interrest and since I haven't read the book yet, I won't be prone to 'but they missed this part out and blah blah blah

Just got back.. phew 2H 33 Mins.. now I need to read the book.. I was afraid they gonna sensor the ending like they did in Thailand and Phillipines, thanx god they didnt.. interesting but I'm not gonna comment on religion.

Ok I just saw it tonight.
I have to say I was very pleased. It was a good movie. Very well done, and I think that I will probably buy it on DVD when it comes out. As far as the controversy behind the movie, I wonder if the people protesting it have an actual understanding of the story or if they just read a summary or were told the story by someone else. Now I can't say anything about the book since I never read it, but I have to say that there were some good positive messages in the film. I don't think people understand the message behind the film and that misinterpretation is what's driving at people.

There was a group outside my theater and I can safely assume that they have no idea what they were protesting about. It is a fictional story above all things, and I guess people would rather jump to conclusions about how heretical it is than sit down and glean the real message. C'mon people, get over the fact that it involves religion. I would have wanted to believe we were beyond the book burning mentality.

Anywho, It was in my opinion an excellent movie and I would highly reccomend, regardless of personal belief or faith that all of you go see it/read it and stick with it till the credits roll. Take the religion with a grain of salt if it offends you, but really it was a great story. And from a lover of storytelling, I feel confident in asserting it was a good one.
