Get some lighting that shines at the ceiling. and not down to the floor. This will give you and others the illusion that your dorm is actually bigger than it is. Which could keep you from going nuts.  |

Yes, yes, yes. When I was at school, my roommates and I went out and bought a cheap, imitation oriental rug for like $25. It was a very nice touch to add to the room. At the end of the year, I ended up keeping it, and put it in all my subsequent dorm rooms.
Also, I always decorated my room/area with cool movie posters. I think they add a nice touch. |
