Well after the cool vid that was put together my brain juices got pumping for a might bit there. So as an idea to throw out, maybe PO could appeal to more con goers if we made our own anime parody. I've seen it done with many groups and they all got major popularity for their works.
If we combine our collective nogins between the script writing and video editing, I think we could make something that people would go crazy for, and maybe spread the word of PO around the public even moreso. We could even reserve a space in the video room for it during cons.
So a PO anime parody, think it would be worth thinking about maaaaybeeee? |

You know, I'm enjoying this idea. Can you give some examples of parodies that you were thinking of, cause this idea's starting to get the juices in my head rollin as well.
As far as it goes, you know i've been working on dialogue and screenwriting as of late, i'll be willing to offer my talents. I'm majoring in the stuff...i'd liek to think that i can make it come out amazing |

Seriously, this sounds like a good idea. Only set back I could think of is that you'd have to do most things locally. I mean, you couldn't get VAs from everyone. But that core group there is pretty talented with the POcasts and all, so I say go for it. |

Well the best way I can example it is that there are two ways it can be done. You have your Robot Chicken example, where a lot of shorter skits would make up the whole, with only a few plot driven parts. Would often be the most popular idea since it is easier to put together.
You also have your Fanboy Bebop or Otakudom parody which is most often longer and more plot focused. It's these that will usually take longer to make, due to script length and finding the right show clips to put together. |

I think This Is Otakudom took Scott 2 or 3 years to do... that was a massive undertaking, as is something like this. I scrape for enough time to throw together a 4 minute video.
I don't know how far you can stretch static PO chara images, but you've said you've had some ideas and experience with this sort of thing. Have at her, mang. |

The idea i enjoy more off is the robot Chicken idea, since i know ming and I enjoy tossing about ideas about it and the like. With figures like Stikfas, this type of thing is a bit easier to come up with, since they are super-articulated figures that are generic bodies. This would require still-frame animation, which while seeming simple, does take some skill (taking LOTS of pictures, and then putting together in a sequence)...it's the same idea as Claymation.
The hardest part i see in this also lies in the actual character making. What is nice about using something like "Stikfas" to do this is that you make one character, and you won't have to worry about anything else you need, aside from maybe different heads for different facial expressions.

i like robot chicken...
If someone were to given me a mac with imovie, I could do the whole thing myself, but unfortunatley, I have a pc... Blast!
Is there anyway we could incorporate the PO characters in the movie? Also, I thoght the PO star logo thing could be a ninja star thing that chops off someones head in the opener, if that's possible....
