I'm sure it will be perfectly interesting...the only problem that I see with miniatures games is that they can get expensive. Also, I've tried the collectible miniatures games before, and they, personally, don't tickle my fancy very much. Tobs and I are trying to pick up Warmachine, which is a more traditional miniatures game (like Warhammer), which I think I just like the feel of more because, while there is a higher initial cost, I don't have to go out and keep buying booster packs to keep up. And it's also much easier to keep track of since expansions aren't coming out constantly. Believe it or not, it's pretty difficult to keep up with multiple collectible games. I already waste enough time and money doing that with CCGs.
So all in all, I think I'm going to skip this one in lieu of continually keeping up with Magic, as well as trying to get more into Legend of the Five Rings and Hecatomb. Plus, the WoW card game is due out this fall, and based on what I've read so far, it's going to be really good. |

yeah I'm not going to jump into it. It looks nice, but I just don't like the "oh you won 6 turns first... so you win... even though I have twice the number of creatures on the board.
And the expense is a huge thing.
I saw... at the lowest... for preorder, the starter pack was $20... 16 figures, 1 rare, 3 uncommons. The booster back is $10... 7 figures, 1 rare, 2 uncommons. |

Wizards has a virtual starter pack and a virtual booster up. I may print these out and see how this works and see if it actually is fun. It looks like it could be, but I don't see me getting into it.
The creatures have a lot of abilities which is pretty cool. And the rules don't seem too complicated. Not to mention there is a pretty dragon in the inagural set.
Not sure. I guess we will see. It's one of those things where I may give it a shot, but I don't see it being that huge for me. |
