Maybe? |
Eh, who can say.
It's nice to think about pairing Sony's hardware with Sega's ability to develop games. But you have to think that things would've changed alot. Who can say it would have been for the better? Alot of classic titles might have derailed in a completely different direction or not have come to exist at all. |

That's not as far off in the future as you may think. In fact, it's part of the past as well. Sega games on PS2 and PS3 anyone? And believe me, from what I saw at E3, most of the reasons to get me a PS3 (even tho I won't) are labeled ''Sega''. Sega Rally ... Virtua Fighter 5 ... Golden Axe!!! You name 'em.
What I really really really wanna see is a new Panzer Dragoon and Street of Rage, I mean come on, we didn't get one for the Dreamcast ... are we gonna see one for PS3? Who knows <_< |

Probably not, considering Final Fantasy is made by Square. |

What I meant was, games like those might not exist per say. With the different hardware, different games might have emerged instead. Of course now Sega's free to develop for whatever hardware they choose, but I meant establishing franchises in the past. |

Yeah I agree with Ultra. Sony hooking up with Sega... could have gone either way. I think that they would have benefited from eachother, but some of the classics we have today... may not be around.
And think of this... if we had Virtua fighter exclusive to Sony from the start, would Tekken be a playstation title. Things would have run differently. |
