Personally I've heard of too many scams in this game. It looks fantastic, but I also don't like the payment plan. ^_^; that would be a no for me. |

I read this horrific story about an EVE player who became obsessed with this game and scammed a ton of people. It's pretty horrible, I'll try to find a link to it later assuming my laziness/short term memory doesn't prevail. |

The way I remember that scam is this (note this is from what I've heard, I've never actually played the game):
For some reason (I'm fairly sure it was because he was mad he got scammed himself, but I could be wrong), this guy decided to get back at some people and scam them bad. In the game, you can develope technology, which requires time and most importantly money(all "money" mentioned from here on in is game money just so nobody gets confused). So much money it's rare that anyone can develop any good technology without the help of people pooling in their money. So, he spends a few hours convincing a room full of people to back him up financially on this project, all except for one person, who thought it a scam from the very beginning. The misbeliever went as far as to call this guy up and make him explain everything over the phone, to make sure he sounded reliable and he could sense the lies in his voice (and something else I don't remember). Eventually though, our scammer convinced him to give him the money. He bankrupted almost all of his financial bankers with the promise that they'd get paid back with interest due to the technology. Then, he logged off with all that money and never got back on again. |

No, he actually found a random person just starting out and dropped about $3 Billion on them.
The game is stupendous but I just don't like the computer using stat checks to fight my dogfights. I'm WAY too good at Flight/Space sims to let the computer do the fun parts for me. |

I guess it is apealing to who its apealing. It is a point and click game, but its the shear openness of it that atracts me. I hate lv based games where you do the same crap or get the same junk as 98% of the other people on the server. 4 hour long raids and grinding to level so i can go somewhere else. |
