Well my old hard drive is gettin pretty crappy, so I am lookin to get a new one, only thing I have no idea how to partion a hard drive.
Also is it better to have a high speed? or large cashe for better preformance? |

Partitioning a hard drive should be simple enough - most hard drives come with software that will guide you through the process of setting up your hard drive the way you want to.
Cache size is good, because it keeps more stuff without needing to go and read again. High RPMs help in terms of reading speed and access time. |

If you have Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional, there's an easy way to partition a hard drive.
Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. On the new window, click Disk Management. From there, you can manage partitions of your hard drives. You can also use a program called Partition Magic, which is an enchanced disk manager in a sense. Give me a yell if you want more info about either. |

The specs look good for the price. I only use Maxtor (I've had five over the lives of my computers) and I've never been screwed. Knock on wood. Good job buying onlione instead of a retail store tho, you'll definitely get a better deal. Also try www.pricewatch.com so you can compare shipping costs. That's where they get you. The drive will be $100 but the shipping will be $20 whereas you may find the same drive for $110 with free shipping. |
