Yeah I wasn't impressed with it myself.

Adam ... I agree ... is a halfwit. He didn't keep his head, he was more interested in trying to make Jack look like a fool. Doesn't he know all he has to do is sit back and Jack will do that for him.

It wasn't long enough, as Doot said. And yes, Jack did stay collected... but he was only on the spot for a few minutes And at the end, he's trying to get Kevin's attention and they cut him off. He seemed to be losing his cool close to the end there.

For me, it really did nothing.

Jack's eyes are unsymetrical and creepy. Mark did have the best points though.

I did ,however, like Adam's line about Pong. I agree this should have been longer.

That line alone was basically the hammer argument in the whole spiel.

Thompson wants to get hands on Bully
Lawyer demands early copy of Rockstar game, will sue if he deems it a public nuisance.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Aug 16, 2006 4:12 pm ET

After calling on Take-Two to prevent its upcoming PlayStation 2 game Bully from falling into anybody's hands, Florida lawyer Jack Thompson is now trying to get his own hands on it, and before anybody else at that.

Thompson filed a petition today with the 11th Judicial Circuit Court asking for Wal-Mart and Take-Two to furnish him with an advance copy of Bully so he can have "an independent third party" play the game and determine if it would constitute a public nuisance in the state of Florida (in which case it could be banned).

"If Bully is indeed safe for children's play, then petitioner will be the first to say so," Thompson said. "If it is not, then not only will the underlying action be brought sounding in Florida nuisance law, but also possibly and most likely in fraud as well."

One of Thompson's complaints centers around retailers like Wal-Mart accepting preorders for the game without age verification, because the game has yet to receive a rating.

"Is it a 'Mature' game not appropriate for anyone under 17 or is it a 'Teen' game sold to everyone," Thompson asks. "The ESRB refuses to say and appears to be withholding from the public the rating of the game in order to quell controversy for its corporate collaborator, Take-Two. ... This withholding of rating information from the public about a game that the ESRB has had for over a year is outrageous, made more so by the fact that Wal-Mart is actually pre-selling Bully with no rating whatsoever for the game, to anyone of any age!"

He added that preselling a game that hasn't been rated yet is "akin to a pharmaceutical company selling a new and controversial drug without prior FDA approval," and he accused Take-Two of instigating "a new wave of successfully orchestrated harassment" against him. So far that wave consists of a series of phone calls he received Tuesday morning from a caller who identified himself as "Peter," called him a sexual deviant, and threatened his life. Last December, a 16-year-old gamer in Texas was charged with a misdemeanor for threatening to torture and kill Thompson.

Take-Two had not returned a request for comment regarding Thompson's petition as of press time.

Oh boy. I love it when people think it is ok for them to go above the law to "protect us".

I hate to say but when nut job kids and gamers actually show the lack of maturity and mental cognisance required to threat to kill a man who says that video games cause violence only really make Jack look credable.
And i also honestly think Jack does have some valid points is his latest speil. Not giving a game a rating after having for a year is rediculous as is preselling an unrated game. Perhaps not to the extent of an untested drug, but certainly in reguards to the fact that it might be rated M.
For the record, kudos to Wal-Mart (for once and only once) for carding me when i wanted to buy a rated M game, as much as it makes me weep on the inside for not looking over the age of 18.
Now my statement is this, I really don't liek to play games with gore for the sake of gore, it should be be fine to produce them as long as people buy them. I'm mean have you seen what comes on tv? I've watched tv get much more violent and adult oriented over my short existance. I mean stuff that would have gotten a movie rated R are now in prime time slots on television.
I'm not a fan of censoring by any means, but it seems to me that if Jack wanted to attack something he should go for tv where there really isn't much censorship. At least not enough for channels kids could get to by acident or other means.

Bully gets T rating
Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar game previously decried as a "Columbine simulator" by watchdogs deemed suitable for ages 13 and older by ESRB.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Sep 14, 2006 2:45 pm ET

Take-Two Interactive has had its share of controversies in the last couple of years. The discovery of a sex minigame in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, dubbed "Hot Coffee," and that game's subsequent rerating comes in at the high end of the controversy scale for inspiring federal gaming legislation, while the discovery of a "nude" skin and more violence than was initially rated in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion seemed to cause less of a stir.

In between the two was Bully. Originally announced in May of 2005, the game puts players in the role of a student at the fictional Bullworth Academy, where the protagonist is said to "stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school." Critics soon jumped on the game, labeling it "a Columbine simulator," calling for it to be banned, and demanding that Take-Two stop production of the game.

A new wrinkle has entered the discussion today, as the Entertainment Software Rating Board told GameSpot that Bully has been rated T for Teen. When it hits the PlayStation 2 next month, Bully will carry content descriptors warning consumers of "Crude Humor, Violence, Sexual Themes, Language and Use of Alcohol & Tobacco." According to the ESRB rating guide, T for Teen games have content that "may be suitable for ages 13 and older."

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter told GameSpot he actually expected the game to get a T-for-Teen rating given recent information Take-Two has released on the game since confirming the October launch.

"I think that Take-Two generated a lot of unintentional bad will with the Hot Coffee fiasco, and I think that they are trying to enhance their reputation by avoiding controversy where it doesn't help their business," Pachter said. "Bully will be just as fun with a T rating as it would have been with an M [for Mature] rating. To be honest, I think that Manhunt would have performed better with the violence toned down a bit. It was an incredible game but got a lot of criticism from the gaming press for over-the-top violence."

Pachter said he wasn't sure if the game's rating would help or hurt its prospects at retail but said he didn't expect the game to be a huge seller, anyway.

"I have low unit estimates for the game, especially since it's only on PS2," Pachter said, "so it will likely not have a dramatic impact on the bottom line. If anything, there is probably some upside to my estimates if the game performs well."
