I'm not sure if this belongs in here or in one of the other forums, but anyway I'd thought I'd provide a link to my band's website. Before you click the link and become confused as heck, it is a pirate band. Though I am two days late, I'd thought it would be good to post up the link in honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

That rules! I was actually trying to start a band called Capt. Dick and his Salty Seamen. We would all just drink and sing pirate sea chantys. No Instruments!!
But really keep this up and do you play anywhere around here?

We just played at Piratepalooza (http://www.piratepalooza.com) a pirate-themed pub crawl in Decatur. We would like more gigs (preferrably on weekends since one of our members is in Virginia), but we're not sure what venue would accept us at this point. Anyway, the big pie in the sky gig right now would be getting Dragoncon next year. |

While we would be happy to try out for Ren Faire, there is a number of problems:
1. One of our members is in Virginia and knowing the budget the owner of the faire usually allots to entertainment, there's no way we can afford to bring him down every weekend.
2.I already have a job lined up for next season as a bellydancer and I don't want to get rid of that because as much as I like the entertainment director as a person, I don't want to be working directly under her...That and I can get away with working in the skimpiest costume on Cast in 90 degree weather!
3. I've been trying to get into the faire for the past 4 years as a musician. Either there is no spot available for another new band or my band members would screw me over in some way (this was a different two bands). I'm tired of playing dancing monkey for them. |
