Interesting poll

Weekly Famitsu has conducted an online poll on the question "which next-generation console you wish to play the most?", the results are:

1. 47.9% - None
2. 35.6% - PlayStation 3
3. 13.6% - Wii
4. 02.9% - Xbox 360

- The next question, "what would you buy by the year end, if you have to decide between PS3 and Wii?"

1. 35.8% - Wii
2. 32.3% - PlayStation 3
3. 27.6% - I will wait (i.e. neither)
4. 04.3% - I will buy both "

It says more than I'
m willing to go into right now that more people want to play the PS3 than any other system but more are willing to buy a Wii. Did someone say "high price"?

It also caught my eye that nearly half of the respondants (who I'm assuming are gamers) aren't even intersetd in any of the three systems. I would answer Wii to both Q's. From what I've sen the PS3 still doesn't have a Killer App for me and also the Playstation family doesn't have a Must Have exclusive franchise for me in the U.S. It used to be Twisted Metal, which I bought with my PS2 on the day the game was released, but even that's going to need a great overhaul to get me back.

There are good games. I'm sure both the PS3 and Wii will have good games.
There are great games. Both will also eventually have great games (Nin's got the Pokemon series so that's a lock for me).
There are system sellers. I don't count anything I've seen yet or what will eventually come from the sequels as a System Seller for the PS3.

We hardly play with the systems we have now. Any of those would be a waste of money for us right now.

My Wii has been pre-ordered and payed for.

I refuse to wait in line at midnight to get it but Ultrawolf can if he so chooses. If not I'll go with him to accuire it...I'll probably take the gun under me bed.
