ok, everyone picks 1 game, we should have enough people for it to eventually reach 100, even if it takes a couple of months.
Basically, pick 1 game you think everyone should play, doesnt matter how popular it already is or how obscure. It also doesnt matter what system its on, it can even be from the days of the ZX81 or earlier.
Its not achart list either so its not a competition to be at the top, its just a general list of what games we as a community think everyone should play at least once before they die.
i'll start, if you could set it up like I do that'd be great.

100) Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
Konami - PlayStation 2
Sequel to Hideo Kojima's Zone of the Enders which sold on the back of a Metal Gear Solid 2 demo. A fine game in its own right is bettered with tighter controls, cleaner visuals and anime style cut-scenes that help grip you by the throat and drag you through the story. |

Im sure the classics will rise to fill this list, but I cant suggest enough one of the last and best 2D side scrolling adventures ever made for a consol that wasnt hand held.
99) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night set the mold when it was made. Spawning several sequals on handheld systems, SotN was the only game of it's lineage to appear on a consol, the Playstation 1. The story is gripping, although slightly ackward at times. The voice acting, what little of it there is, is actually refreshingly good and in a time when video game dubs were as bad as pokemon episodes.
What held the game together tighter than it's jewel case was the insanely great gameplay. Solid, simple moves, legions of enemies to dispatch, fun interesting boss battles, a seemingly endless llist of weapons, some with special abilites adn in various degrees of rarity and usefulness. SotN comes together in countless ways as a game that is greater than the sum of its parts and Ive personal played 100-200% through the game, start to finish, over a dozen times since I've own it. |

98 ) Suikoden II
Konami - Playstation
An awesome RPG with an intense storyline and great character developement. Bringing in familliar characters from the first game and advancing the story through a grand scale power struggle, you as the hero have to gather together the 108 stars of detiny (108 playable characters with vastly differing abilities) to save the land from falling under the dark rule of crowned prince Luca Blight. |

97) Abe's Oddworld Oddysee
One of the best games out there. Good puzzler and absolutely stunning rendered backgrounds. When you aren't messing around with the bodily function noises, chirping Hello and Follow Me to your fellow Mudokons you are reveling in the fact you need to escape Rupture Farms, where the corporate Glukkons are about to turn Abe and his fellowMuds into the next snack craze!
This one spawns it's sequel (Exoddus) and introduced us to Munch's Odyssey. Oddworld has been such a creative, imaginative world to be immersed in. Stranger Wrath was another creature we were introduced to buut it all started with my pal, Abe. |

96) Chrono Trigger
In my opinion one of the most amazingly well done RPGs of all time. Wonderfully beautiful graphics even by todays standards, amazing music, fantastic storyline. With time travel being a key component of this RPG traversing not only the world but its ever changing states between 65,000,000 BC through 2300 AD. Also this game introduced something new to RPG players and most gamers alike, Newgame+ start a new game with all of your levels/stats/items from the previous completion of the game. And plenty of reasons to revisit the game as it has 13 different endings which even today I have yet to see all of myself. |

I'm going to do a round up every 10 so its not that much of a problem its not a "these are in order of you must play" or whatever anyway. |

95) Gunstar Heroes
Treasure - Sega Genesis
I'm not the big video game player that I used to be, and I'm not as well-versed in video game info as you guys all are. But I will stand behind my statement that Gunstar Hereos is one of the most fun games you will EVER play. Nothing I have ever played even comes close to this.
EDIT: Image added. Thanks Razer! |

94) Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
This is the game that defined what I love in an RPG. Filled with mind-numbingly difficult puzzles and memorable characters, Lufia II is what some of us in the business of playing games like to call the "perfect RPG." Or, at least, what I like to call the perfect RPG. With its great storyline, its colorful visuals, and, of course, what every veteran of this game remembers best, the 99-level Ancient Cave, Lufia II blew many other Super Nintendo RPG's out of the water. If you've never played it, I suggest you get started NOW. |
