Wow, fanboyland. That thing doesn't even look halfway professionally written...
I prefer innovation even if it means failure, than sitting on one's laurels and get lazy with design, kthxbai. |

It's always funny when someone decries fanboys and then exposes themselves as one.
I had to stop three seconds into reading this when I saw the "Sony didn't bring down Nintendo. Nintendo did." line. That's what I hear about the Giants/Bills Super Bowl. "The Giants didn't win, Buffalo lost". Wow, so how does that score in the stat sheets? Yes, Buffalo lost because they missed the FG but it was New York's defense that put them in the position to have to try a field goal. Same for Nintendo. Sony did what Nintendo (and Sega) didn't, they produced games that were totally different from what current consoles had done and could do (good polygons). I loved Sega but the Sega CD/32X combo just couldn't do polygons to any decent extent.
Back to this blog tho, the fact that it was written in january and some points do hold true (mainly the DS' dominance over the PSP) is impressive. If only it wasn't tinged with Nintendo rhetoric at every turn. To say that "neither wowed the gaming world" concerning the Saturn/PS fight is simply ludicrous. The PS killed Sega singlehandedly (although that hand was the large hand of EA) and completely took over home console gaming. Comparing the N64 to the PS is a joke whether in terms of gaming, saturation, or obviously, power. I like my N64 and Nintendo but, personally, if the Pokemon franchise wasn't an exclusive I wouldn't own a Nintendo home console.
Overall he rants a bit too much but it is an interesting read. Kinda reminds me of an idea I need to put to Shino's attention...
