I'd give that credit to Doom more than Wolfenstein, and then to Quake for taking it up to 3D. This does raise a question, though - are we talking PC and console, or just console? (Admittedly I know that at least Doom came out for a console.) |

Gameplay

I played and finished Wolf3d before I ever even heard of Doom. |
