Not speaking games (as no game yet has been announced with quality downloadable content yet, IMO) but other stuff. So far, the Wii has made the "best" use of this ability with the Wii Channels (travel, weather, etc). Still I think that with a game console being a GAME CONSOLE the DC should be related. I think one of the gaming networks (Ziff-Davis, for instance, having a diff mag synopsis up for each day) should partner up and manufacture a default homepage (that can be changed by the user obviously).

I'm not specifically pushing ZDNet but that seems to make more sense to me. When I turn on my game console I'f rather be able to get game news (like maybe a direct link to G4 (assuming they ever get their isht together and grow up) or something than seeing some crapass Sony Network screaming "BUY ME!".

Like the marketplace and the ability to download game reviews? Microsoft has been teaming up with Gametrailers.com and I think IGN as well to get their video reviews on the marketplace. It's a cool feature as it may sway 360 owners towards particular titels.

You know what? If those page designers designed their pages with the XTML/CSS specifications, they shouldn't need to tweak their pages at all. At most, they might have to add an extra style sheet for console browsers. Seriously. So if they're manufacturing a homepage, it should be content-oriented for the console browsers.

Gamespot did their TGS and X06 reports as well.

I really don't know how the TV service will work...nor do I know how well a possible music service would work if they did one (be stupid since you can stream music through an MP3 player). But right now, I like Marketplace the way it is. The trailers, the demos, the arcade games, and the content (some, like cheats for Tiger Woods 2007, are lame...but some, like the Oblivion add-ons and extra maps and campaigns for LOTR: BFME2, are really good). I will give opinions on the TV service when it starts (though the Adult Swim, Nicktoons, and some other content intrigues me). Doesn't like much to it at this point...but keyword is at this point. They still can try too much in the future...so we will just have to wait and see.

If they make a browser for the 360...then no. Hell, I probably won't download the Wii's browser. I got a computer to browse the web. It is more efficient (remember DC browsing anyone?).

I hope Sony doesn't try to go too overboard with their service. There is such a thing as too much.

Yeah, good points, Rune. I've got my computer in the same room as my consoles currently, so, having the ability to surf the web from a console would be a wasted feature for me. However, some people might not have that option. Some people might have to share their computer with others in the household and really want to look up codes or a guide. It's a feature that would get used by a currently unknown amount of people. Certianly something worth thinking about by the companies.
