Well, To sum it all up pretty quick, Belleville Police Sargent Jon Brough was shot in the face on Friday in a shoot out. The shooter took his own life, but Sgt. Brough still remains in critical condition.
Sgt. Brough was my D.A.R.E. officer in grade school and was a band parent in high school. He's an awesome guy and although I've never really been super close to him, he's been a role model for me. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. |

Will do, its a sad state of affairs when a guy just trying to earn a living has to face these sort of dangers. But, not meaning to cause any offense, the Police are out there on the front line for this sort of thing, its a very bad case of taking the rough with the smooth.

Yeah that whole stand off was crazy, the gun play that went back and forth sounded like it was in iraq or something. I have been rooting for him since he was my D.A.R.E officer as well, like nog not super close but i knew him.
At least there wont be a trial for the guy who shot him, only a long nap. |

It was a sad day. Makes you think on how quick it can all be over. Just think because of that how much he has lost maybe not his life, but living is going to be just as hard....I keep him and all of you in my thoughts and prayers. |

i remember my DARE officers...i even wrote an essay that won me a DARE lion.
These guys and gals doing this program are great people to do it. I know i remembr who my DARE officers were, and I sympathize...they are sort of role-models, at the same time we don't really know them
