Have you guys been finding cards? Because it seems like most places around here are sold out, unless you want to pay $6-7 a pack.
I really hope UDE gets their act together and starts shipping more product. |

So far it's been fortunate, from what I have een the starters at a game shop near me are just 14.95 as opposed to the $30 rage, and the boosters are as you say. Though it seems that the initial crazy is starting to pass and hopefully the pricing will lower |

The highest I've seen starters is in the $20-25 range, but mostly I've found them for a reasonable price somewhere between $15-17. I bought 2 boosters the other day for $5 each, which I don't think I'll be doing too often. I keep checking the local video game stores, because I know that they HAVE carried then in the past, and for MSRP.
EDIT: I need some advice from you guys. My local comic shop is going to be hosting a WoW TCG tourney on News Years Day. The prize for 1st is a booster box, so I was thinking of trying it out. My dilemma, however, is that I don't know which class to play. I wanted to know if anyone, based on your experiences playing, has any suggestions. |

I love the Warlock deck I play with. I'll post a decklist later if I have a chance to sit down, but the basic strategy is the complete annihilation of the enemy's allies. Focusing on them first before unloading on the enemy hero, Sarmoth's are handy tanks to distract enemy forces and when they're about to die, you can just use Radak to send a blast at your opponent's dome. Ideally you want to wear down their forces and force them into topdeck mode after which you get to sit back and pick away at their life. I also like to use wazuli wildmender's. Two of those babies working in unison gets pretty sick. Sever the cord is your best friend with a Warlock deck, as soon as your guys get in danger, cut them loose.
Another killer strat I have run against is a Shadow Priest deck using multiple shadow word: pain's on the hero. It's devastating. |

I've been reading up on the game a lot on TCG Player. Recently, they posted the top decklists from the first few official tournaments that were held recently at GenCon SoCal. So far, it looks like Elendril-based Hunter decks are going to be the dominant deck to beat (if you play competitively anyway). They also look like they're the most expensive to build, which is kind of annoying.
There's also a great recent article that attempts to establish a preliminary metagame (primary decks to beat) based on the performances at the SoCal tournaments. So far, the top four decks look to be:
- Hunter ally/swarm decks that use fast and cheap allies that generally have higher ATK values than their cost to deal a lot of damage very quickly. Then, they generally try to finish the game soon after with a large Aimed Shot.
- Warrior equipment decks that focus on heavily arming your hero and using ATK boosting cards like Deathdealer Breastplate and Heroic Strike to power up your weapons to do massive damage.
- Mage control decks that use Frost spells to prevent the opponent from attacking you, while also using Fire spells to just flat-out kill things.
- Priest shadow decks that focus on gaining card advantage via cards like Shadow Word: Pain and Mias the Putrid that tack discard abilities onto spells that do something else, all aiming to take advantage of 2-for-1s.
I think that, based on the info I read about, I'm going to go for the Shadow Priest deck right now. On top of apparently being fairly good, it's also the cheapest of the above four to put together, being as it contains no rare or epic cards. Once I have some more money to spend and cards to trade with, I think I'm going to work on putting together the Warrior deck. There's just something about equipping your hero to the teeth then using him alone to beat the crap out of your opponent that seems to appeal to me. |

I agree on that, also because the starter I got gave me the Shadow Priest anyway. I could tell by looking at this cards involved that this would be one scary deck. |

Yeah. The thing with a lot of the Shadow abilities are that they're reasonable as is, but the fact that a bunch of them have discard tacked on pushes them over the top. |

My only complaint with the shadowpriest deck: It doesn't come with any Mind Spikes!!! That's the primary ability for the shadowpriest, and none to be found! SW:P is nice though I really really really want to get the undead rogue pack.

Fortunately, they can be had for $0.25 each online. Check out StarCityGames.com if feel inclined to buy them or other singles.

Unfortunately, you can't get the Undead Rogue as a deck in a starter. UDE only made 9 preconstructed starters to pack in with the starter decks...one for each class. So only 9 of the heroes are represented. Here's a list if you're interested in seeing which you can get in starters:
Druid - Moonshadow
Hunter - Elendril
Mage - Ta'zo
Paladin - Graccus
Priest - Omedus the Punisher
Rogue - Timmo Shadestep
Shaman - Grennan Stormspeaker
Warlock - Radak Doombringer
Warrior - Warrax |

That's ok, I'd just get a timmo deck and swap Kaykeithia out. Anyway, after checking out starcitygames.com I created a profile so I could wishlist cards, and in order to make my rogue deck from scratch (not counting the out of stock rarers) it'll run me 60 bucks. That's about average I guess, and it beats buying all those packs/decks trying to luck out with what I want, Besides, the only rare I wishlisted was Lobotamize. Thanks for the site Ming!
