I usually figure it was a typo. It is always for me anyways.

I haven't had a problem yet. Then again, I have played anything in the most extreme either. And I get a decent grip on the controller. So it hasn't happened yet.

However, seeing how the steel bar that attached our GC bongo drums got destroyed by young kids just flat out slamming it continuously at the Gamestop I worked at...I can easily believe this.

Well I ordered replacements for mine anyway. I have three controllers and while we haven't had a problem yet (probably because we have Wii straps and glove straps on them and I insist that both be worn at all times) I will be switching in the newer, thicker ones when they get here. I'd suggest to any Wii owners to order them whether or not you've had a problem yet.

One side laugh, I was reading Game Informer's review of the Wii (and PS3) and they noted one "con" of the Wii is that the system doesn't balance well on it's side and could fall over. OK, the controllers are wireless and you don't even have to touch it to turn it on. Once you put the disc in (and I'm assuming you'll be next to it when you do and not throwing it in from across the room), how the hell would it fall over anyway? Like you'll be playing and it'll get woozy and topple?

Now I'm sure I'll hear the "jumping around while playing will cause vibrations" stuff but if you're jumping around that much then you deserve to have it fall down. Oh, and they include that you'll have it in the stand anyway.

I never had a problem with mine. It comes with that clear circular piece that attaches to the bottom of the sleeve. That made it very stable.

So I ordered the straps on the 17th, they confirmed on the 21st, reported that it shipped on the 24th, and they got here today on the 26th. One thing I give to Nintendo is that their customer sevice has never been matched.

We haven't had any problem with the straps yet, but went ahead and ordered the new ones so that we can always have backup.

I totally agree with this. They were awesome to us when our Wii broke.
