Thinking of FINALLY getting WoW...thoughts?

I use a dagger on my main, but my minor Warlock (a level 22) uses swords. I've also been known to cycle through and use whatever weapon has the best stats. AS to Immolate, it might be a good idea to lay off it if you're having agro issues. I've never really noticed it, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

It all goes by stats. Most will end up using a sword or dagger + off hand to get better stats, but if a staff has better stats, then use that. You will rarely end up beating on things with them unless you are just working to skill up your weapons lol

A friend of mine uses a staff for the buffs, and has a sword to switch to incase things get too up-close. He's also probably the most sought after lock on the server as he has no trouble getting into even the most prestige raiding guilds.

I, however, am just a mediocre tank...

Raiding isnt all that unless you have no life and nothing better to do with 4-6 hours of your time each night. Its fun in moderation, not all the time. Ive been in 3 raiding guilds, and declined offers to 2 of our big ones once I left the other raiding guilds, because its just too time consuming. Its rough to work all day, then get home and know you will be "working" again from 7:30-12:00 4-5+ days a week to raid. Eating dinner at your desk while you raid and watch tv over your shoulder isnt a fun night lol. Its funny how most of the time was wasted doing it, considering the fact that most greens and blue items in the new expansion areas are better than or at least as good as my Tier 2 set lol!

Many swords have buffs as well. Your friend's weapon set up is just purely based on what he has. My bf's lock has a staff that has nice buffs, but it doesnt beat the +dmg on his Azuresong Mageblade and whatever his off hand is (i cant recall it right now).

Ming- your big stats, as a warlock that you want any/as much gear as possible with these stats are:

+Stamina
+Damage
+Shadow Damage

You get gear, in any form, with those stats on them, and you will be tearing things up left and right and making them your beeches.

Yeah, I never even finished the initial starter tier before cancelling my account for a break. So these new items are huge upgrades for me.

The weird thing is, yesterday I saw a lvl 70 that was still wearing lvl 60 armor. My guess is he paid someone to lvl for him and they didn't bother grabbing any new gear for him along the way.

Some people wear thier tier sets if they arent busy doing anything purely to not look like a hobo. The stats on the 60 gear is still pretty good. I'm 65 and I still wear tier 2, I havent found any items that are better than waht I have, maybe they come close, but with the bonuses i get for sets and whatnot, its not worth it to exchange armor for me yet, but i have replaced epic necks and trinkets and rings with greens and blues now.

I was in tier 0/tier 1... now I'm rocking a full set of green plate of the Champion.

450+ defense, baby. Rogues do not love it.
