As for Gunslinger Girl, it really comes off to me as a "Kite" remake kind of scenario, so I've never bothered to see it. Have you seen Kite? Can you tell me what makes them different? |
Kite has exploding bullets and mind humping...Gunslinger-girl is more like a noir look into thingy stuff...Things. |

I own Kite, and ripped off Gunslinger girls, so I feel that I am more than qualified to say that the two anime's are only similar in that a lot of people die horrible, very bloody deaths. The girl in Kite had her parents killed, and she was pretty much walking the streets. These guys took her in, raped the hell out of her, and gave her the means the motive and the oppertunity to kill very efficiently. Not to mention that this anime is full of gratuitous violence and sex.
In gunslinger girls on the hand, was completly davoid of sex, which is a good thing because I dont think any of the females in this anime were over the age of 12. These girls had terminal illnesses and were taken in by a government agency, genetically cured and enhanced. However their life spans were extremely short even after they were cured, and they are extremly unstable mentaly.
The two anime's are very different, however I will not say there are no similarities. Regardless they are booth good, and should both be seen at least once. I have added them both to my collection. |

Thank you, Faye, for that clarification. I am a lot more interested in seeing GS now (I really enjoyed Kite, but I didn't want to see the same thing over again). Knowing a little bit more about the plot of GS also makes me want to see it, it does sound interesting. |

Well there you go, Scrum. Sorry I couldn't help before.lol. It really is a great anime. I love the angle they take on the relationships between the handlers and the girls. Great stuff. The opening theme is also one of favs of all time. |
