graphic Buying women drinks graphic

Is it ok for a woman to let a guy she doesn't know buy her a drink if she doesn't intend on talking to him?
Yes, after all, HE'S the one who bought HER a drink, she has no obligation

No, it's implied on a social level that he's buying her a drink in exchange for some of her time.

You can always use the classic shoving a cross in the face of the person whilst screaming "Back foul horny single man! A boyfriend I doth have. BACK I SAY!!!"

just make sure you smile afterwards otherwise he may take it as being a bit rude.

Dude... that was hilarious.

I've been let down in some of the nicest ways and some of the most blunt ways. i guess the important thing is to do it in a decent and respectful tone and making it clear, no lines for misinterpretation.

o.o You just discomplimented yourself!

Anyways, this is an interesting subject. I can't say much for American guys in the way of bars and such, because, well, I can't drink in public here. Overseas, however, I've had some interesting experiences with guys buying girl's time with drinks. I, as a rule, don't drink when bar-hopping in Spain. It's just my unwritten rule, because I either don't trust everyone there and it really is amusing just to watch everyone else and sort of take care of them. Thus, the Spanish (and Portugese, and Moor, and British (whoever comes wandering into town)) have to find a different way of picking me up. Those that know me know that -not- buying drinks (for themselves and others) will buy them my time. Those that don't know and try to buy me a drink get blown off, although I appreciate the sentiment and get to judge their convincing skills. There are, of course, exceptions. My little wave of prohibition in a wet culture.

Anyways, I'm guilty of being completely subtle in my hints, and also sort of just flirting with guys that I know will have no chance with me. I really don't want to hurt their feelings, but they're so much fun to mess with!

What's a way we can just flat out say no to a man who, for example, offers us a drink?

Just say no. Simple as that.

I don't know why you women always have to over-complicate everything...
