Rock Band coming to Wii...
1up wrote: | Rock Band Will Probably End Up on Wii, Too
Could the Wiimote function as all the extra peripherals?
By Patrick Klepek, 04/02/2007
When Harmonix revealed the first details on their magnum music opus, Rock Band, they only announced it'd be arriving on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall. Chances are that's still the plan, but during a conference call about the game, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos suggested a Wii version is entirely possible, reports IGN.
"We will, at some time, bring Rock Band to every [important] platform," he said. He added that Harmonix would optimize future versions of Rock Band to fit the strengths of the platform. "I think the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise."
Sounds like Harmonix's waiting to see what people are willing to pay for with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions (will there be four separate peripherals? Can we use our existing guitars?) before committing to anything else, but something tells us they're already experimenting within their own offices. What comes of it, however, remains to be seen. |

Double the buttons, double the fun.

There are still plenty of questions to be answered about Rock Band, but the guitar's new look is no longer one of them. An EB Games email newsletter contained pictures of the peripheral, giving us our first glimpse at how Harmonix's new axe would differ from Red Octane's.
The additional frets (mentioned in a Game Informer story as solo frets) make their appearance, along with a toggle switch. The switch changes the sound of the guitar via reverb, flange, wah and delay, but no word on if this addition is just for kicks or part of gameplay.

You should come to AWA.
Actually, I'm hoping to jump around a bit.
Depends on the price of the Perifs.
But yeah... I want that gee tar!
Honestly, if Tobs gets a 360, I think he gets dibs on Lead guitar. I think he's the best one here on GH.
I'm still learning though. I just started playing with the 360 version of GH. |
