Opera has that feature too.
But I'm currently between my Opera 9 and my Firefox 2. First of all, the spellcheck feature isn't all that helpful to me (I'm not bragging T.T), and I just have this thing for Opera.
The 9 has thumbnail previews of every page tabbed (helpful when I don't feel like clicking through all the pages when I have a bunch open from the same site). Opera also has BitTorrent built in (handy for my often multitasking self who doesn't want to have too many programs open). I can also easily block specific content from sites permanently and only allow specific cookies and applications to run on each site, change the style of each page I visit if I want one a certain way everytime I go, and I can mask the application I'm using as Firefox or Internet Explorer. I also can set a reload timer (as I do when I have the forum tabbed so it constantly updates). I'm not sure if you can do this with Firefox, but I can save sessions with a click seperately from my bookmarks so I don't have to sift through my bookmarks when I just want to open a bunch of pages at once that would suit what I was currently doing (research, download, resource, outsource, whatever, I have a bunch of categories for my needs). And I have the password Wand, which I like better than Firefox just outright saving my password.
...Maybe I just haven't explored Firefox 2 enough, but I prefer my Opera.
Ah, and on that neato feature, my tabs are always saved by Opera, even if I close the window myself. I also have easier access to my widgets... Ok, I doubt you guys need any more explanation as to why I like Opera. |

Nari, I like Opera a lot too. I stick with Firefox only b/c it's not as intensive on your system.
There is supposed to be a way to save your tabs when closing on Firefox, but I can't seem to find it. |

Save as in "put in bookmarks" or save to restore. Because if it's save to restore on next session, our friendly folks at Lifehacker have two ways to go about it:
Fx 2.0 only: As a blogger and web mail user, it breaks my heart to recount how many times I've composed a long post or email message, then accidentally closed the tab or browser and lost all my work. No more! With Firefox 2, set the browser.startup.page key to 3 to restore your browsing session - with form entries intact! - every time you start your browser or undo close tab after a wayward click. Note: By default, Firefox 2 automatically restores your session if your browser crashes - but this does it every time you restart your browser normally. Thanks for the tip, Arun!
* Key: browser.startup.page
* Modified Value: 3
* Default: 1 (open your specified homepages)
Update: Ryan points out that doing it this way is like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer. To do it the normal person way, from the Tools menu choose Options, and in the Main area, select "Show my windows and tabs from last time" from the "When Firefox starts" dropdown. D'oh! Thanks Ryan! |
