The latest issue of japanese game magazine Famitsu has revealed that Namco plans to release a next-generation Katamari game, entitled "Beautiful Katamari Damacy," on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game will feature online gameplay, which we expect to be an online version of the two-player cooperative mode that debuted with "We Love Katamari," the sequel to 2004's "Katamari Damacy."
Expect an official announcement in the coming days. |

I hope they DON'T incorporate too much Wii-mote features in the Wii version. I'd rather have the option to use the Classic Controller altho I doubt that would happen. Still, the idea of going online to roll people up (8-players would rock!) is awesome. |

Classic controller has the necessary twin analogs. I suspect you'll need it, unless the Katamari makers want to spend the extra time making it gesture-based. |

ah but i think this would work well on the wii, using the nun-chuck and controller in a similar way to the twin sticks you an buy for the vitual on games. |

That article didn't, but I'm pretty sure theres a Katamair in the works for Wii and DS.

So its not official it seems, Keita Takahashi isn't convinced by the Wii, but I can see NAMCO wanting to milk something with such a huge cult status and possibly getting someone else on board! |
