Top Ten Japan Software Sales: 4/23 - 4/29
* 1. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS)
* 2. Super Paper Mario (Wii)
* 3. Momotarou Dentetsu DS: Tokyo & Japan (DS)
* 4. Wii Sports (Wii)
* 5. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree (Wii)
* 6. Gyakuten Saiban 4 (DS)
* 7. One Piece Unlimited Adventure (Wii)
* 8. Panel de Pon DS (DS)
* 9. Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis (DS)
* 10. Wii Play (Wii)
So obviously our Japanese counterparts are so loving Nintendo right now. I myself am hoping they utilize the online components of the Wii strongly when they begin using it. I'm happy with the DS Lite's online presence (as most carts have single cart multiplayer) but the Wii has to really push the boundaries. Sadly, Pokemon Battle Revolution is looking like Pokemon XD 1.5 (and anything BUT a revolution) instead of the jump that it should have been. |

You know.
I saw some videos of FFXII RW.
I was VERY disappointed. It's so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
And it's very 16 bit looking. Of course that doesn't really matter if the game play is good. But right now... It just doesn't look like it is. |

And amazingly, here's part 2-
Top 10 console software sales in Japan for the week of April 30 - May 6:

* 10. Kawashima Ryuuta Kyouju Kanshuu: Motto Nouo Kitaeru Otona DS Training (NDS, Nintendo) - 44,047 [4,238,185] units
Again Nin takes the entire Top Ten in sales. I don't think this has ever been done here. I would add "and probably never will" but I never imagined this could happen anywhere and it's obviously going on in Japan. Can it run for three weeks straight? |

In japan, if the game has the name "Final Fantasy" in it, they will eat it up like such fine fine chocolate pudding. So ultimately it comes down to weighing what others see in it, and what you see in it. Even though it's in another country there must be a good snag for it to sell so much despite the name. |
