It's actually quite a bit larger than Earth. Earth is 8,000 miles diameter, Gliese 581 is 12,000 miles diameter.

true but here is one question science has never answered: of the gas giants, is there a solid core since solids are more dense and thus would have more gravity to start with? another pondering is the gravity on the new planet. as i listed above solids are more dense but not all solids are the same so i wonder about the G well this planet generates. |

well if the grav is double then it prolly has a higher uranium content to the core than our current planet's Ni-Fe core and mantle. (it has been noted that uranium keeps the core working and explains the polar shifts) |
