For Betheseda had opened up their very limited site for Fallout 3, judging by the questions on the forums (such as "should the game be rated M"), somehow I feel awkward about this game.

Plus with a lot of the rumors and discussions about the game, it really hasn't been getting a lot of good press from the fans.

I know I should judge it until I see it, but still, it looms.

At least by the look of the site, there's a good hint that they'll stick to the original formula. I don't see what bad things could be looming about it.

Many seem to fear that the game will be Oblivion or Morrowind with more guns...which would make it more like an FPS. And while one of the games I am most looking forward to is an open ended FPS with plenty of RPG elements (Bioshock), it seems that something like that for a game series like Fallout seem kinda hard to do.

Judging a company based on one series isn't a great practice. It would be like judging Capcom's original announcment of Resident Evil based on Street Fighter or Megaman. Bethesda has done things other than first-person RPG's and has a reputation for making some really great games outside of the Elderscroll series (Cathulu for instance). I say give them time to actually show something before getting too worried.

Well... Liam Neeson is going to play a role in this game!

Liam Neeson Cast in Fallout 3's Lead Role
The main behind Ra's al Ghul, Qui-Gon and Oskar Schindler does games.
By Dan Dormer, 05/08/2007
Even if you've seen only a handful of movies in the past twenty years, it's unlikely you haven't see (or heard) Liam Neeson in one of them. Schindler's List, Les Miserables, Gangs of New York, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Love Actually, Kingdom of Heaven, Kinsey, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Batman Begins are just the highlights from 1987 onward. And now, working with Bethesda Softworks, Neeson gets another credit in his IMDB profile for Fallout 3 as "Player's Father."

According to the game's executive producer, Todd Howard, the role was "written with Liam in mind." Neeson isn't a stranger to doing voice over work for videogames, either. In 2005, he reprised his role as Henri Ducard/Ra's al Ghul for the Batman Begins videogame. "It's been a pleasure bringing the father to life and working with the wonderfully talented people at Bethesda on Fallout 3," said Neeson. "I hope the fans of the franchise and the game will be excited by the results."

Is it possible we'll get our first chance to see Neeson's contribution to the game when the teaser drops? The announcement timing is uniquely coincidental.
