Yeah, I'm not holding high hopes for this movie. There's only so much you can shove into such a short time, and the fifth book has a -lot- of plot stuff.
Still, it looks shiny. ^^ And Shino-- that was awful. But at least Ron was as tall as he's supposed to be! ^_-
Edit: I should mention that 90% of the reason that that was awful was because I believe Lindsay Lohan is behind that wig as Hermione, and she's...er...not cool. xD |

I don't see the appeal, really. I don't find her attractive at all, and there are definitely a lot of incredibly attractive chicks in Hollywood. xD
But yeah. I get to see OotP at least four or five times this summer...and I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not. I need to watch the trailer again and psyche myself up!
Edit: yeah...watching the trailer just raises more questions for me. The kids don't look like themselves, it looks like they changes how Fred and George leave the school (though at least it's in there) who is the goth chick? And why doesn't Luna Lovegood look crazy and bug-eyed and stuff? |

Movie opens TONIGHT!!!!
Now just to decide if I want to get my butt out there at midnight for the movie...or wait. They intend to play it every half hour for the remainder of the week at our theater.
Edit:
We went to the midnight showing. It was a great movie as they all are but as long as it may have been since I read Book 5, I noticed some major twisting from the book and just flatout inaccuracies...I think.
Its enough to make me want to reread the book to see what they did wrong in this movie.
We at least lucked out and landed in the spillover theater. They were showing it in 2 rooms...so I'm glad I didn't get my tickets aread of time...or else we would have been crammed into a sold-old room. The one we were in was maybe 2/3 if even which gave us room to move and pick out great seats. |

We went to the IMAX theatre at MoG. We got there around 10:00 PM so we made sure we had excellent seats (and could all sit together, considering there were ten of us)
SPOILER-ISH
I was...disappointed. The rest of the movie was good, but the Department of Mysteries was so awful (even if it was in 3D at the IMAX) that it ruined the whole thing for me. The Department of Mysteries scene is quite probably my favourite part of -all- the books, and for them to botch it so badly (and don't give me that 'no time' crap, this movie was short enough they could've squeezed in another ten-twenty minutes of it and still been fine) really upsets me. I was really hoping they'd do well with it, especially since all the previews made it look like they did.
Other than that, the movie was mostly good. They left out a few other things I would've liked to have seen, but aren't as heart-breaking for me. |
