The first Ghost in the Shell movie always sends me to sleep, I usually nod off as one of the manakins gets knocked over, then wake up midway through the tank battle. |

Three movies covering the whole series with some changes to keep things fresh, and one movie with a whole new ending. I believe these are to try and make eva more "User Friendly" for those who reacted the way Riva so correctly put.
Lord knows the fans will eat this up in a minute, as the first movie comes out in a couple of weeks. |

QFT!!! Ugh those were awful. NGE was like 1 intro episode, 22 episodes of filler (alien attacking earth! Kill it! OK!), and a confusing ass ending.
Blood the Last Vampire was a demo showcasing new animation effects and the storyline was nil.
If you guys want a great story, check out galaxy express 999. I was hesitant because I didn't like the art style, but it the storyline turned me on mr. deadman.

My reasons for not liking it have nothing to do with the story itself--for the most part I understood it. My problem with Eva is its piss-poor animation, redundant plots, angsty/whiney teenage main character, lengthy still-frame shots with hyperemotional background music, and its bizarre storyline elements that seemingly have no purpose other than to confuse the audience (because honestly, there are many more eloquent ways they could have confused people and still gotten their message across).

I agree with your sentiments on all 3 animations mentioned :D I love Galaxy Express 999!!! It was actually one of my first anime. Haha, and I liked the style at first, until I realized that Leiji Matsumoto used the same style for EVERY FLIPPIN MOVIE he ever did. XD So it got old really fast. |
