I tend to get my clothes at the Men's Warehouse or Mitchels (can't remember the name but they have good jeans cheap).
When my ex was living with me she has a bad habit of indiscriminite laundering... (wash dry clean only stuff in the washer) and cleaned out my nice shirts =P |

I used to get my clothes for work at Syms, but I can't stand going into that store, and a lot of their stuff is still expensive (and generally not worth it), despite their discounts. And I can't help but feel like I've stepped into 1965 when I go there. A couple of months ago I went to Men's Wearhouse and bought 4 pairs of pants for work, and they've been stellar. They were also really well priced, and the experience was much better on the whole. |

Woo!
I am alive! And I have a incredibly expensive converter!
So far Nashville is great. I have only been here since Thursday afternoon but thats Ok.
We had a three day long orientation in New Jersey befor we could go (fly) and meet the families.
I had to bring with me one of the other aupairs because her host mom was out travelling and could not pick her up until yesterday. (Hey look! We are in the same time zone!)
Apparently a trip from Atlanta to Nashville on this holiday does not take 4 hours. It takes 6. Or seven. I don't know how late she was.
It is very very hot. I love your fondness of AC.
But I am still a little jetlaged so I will probably fall asleep very soon. |

Most likely traffic and traffic cops. Yeah, Nashville is a little warm, but you are close the the mountains so you will get some cooler bouts of weather. |

It'll cool off pretty soon Stingy. It won't get as cold as where you are used to I don't think. But it will be cooling off this month. |

I thought it was nice. But we did mostly see the hotel. And the people that was giving us the classes were very nice but everything had to go so very fast.
I think we had 15 minutes to sightseeing, find some food, buy some food and eat it before we had to go. That acctually only the first day but it was a little shocking. |

oh wow...i came to this thread a bit too late.
My girlfriend was an aupair from Austria, who was doing pretty much the same exact thing as you are. I feel dumb for not reading this thread earlier 
Anywho, hope you enjoy nashville, and like Ming said...we apologize for your stay in New Jersey.
Really...we do.
oh, and if you're confused about anything, lend any of us a hollar...if anything, I can always pesture my girlfriend about what to expect and the like, since she's done this before.

hmm..wow, I just found this...my apologies but I think everyone has covered everything...
sting, I don't really know where you're from..I'm guessing a european country?
If you're going to be away from home, and I guess you're already here/there/wherever, I hopeyou brought lots of pictures and have an easy way of calling anyone back where you're from...I used skype and would highly suggest it^.^
since you're in tennesee will you be coming to AWA? well, I guess as an aupair you won't get much time off...maybe the kids would enjoy it^.^ |

I still don't think New Jersey was that bad...
I would love to come to AWA. But I am probably busy. And the parents are not that willing to just head of to Atlanta. I have mentioned that I have some internets friend in Atlanta so they do know that I want to go meet with you guys.
If AWA is around the same time every year I guess I can go next year. Then it is the thirteenth month I am here so then I get to travel freely around the country. |
