I thought the japanese singer MANA was a chick! For rizzle! Until I found out that MANA was a dude! I swear I felt like that detective from "The Crying Game". I was like Crow T. Robot durin that "sex" scene from the movie "Mitchell". I kept screaming "My my my my GOOOOOOOOOD!" and flet my world shatter. On another note, Legend I hope you don't think ill of me because I like the gothic lolita style. I think it's more about elegence (I hope I spelled that right) than tryin to look girly.
And yes Lolita Bible is a japanese rag ("rag" is biker term for magazine) that showcases various designs for both men and women. Although you won't ever EVER and I do mean EVAR find me wearin that stuff. I'm too into my "Jimmy Buffet" style (hawaiin t-shirts and cargo shorts with sandals! Oooh! Gothic!) to change. Viva la hamburger!
P.S: Legend is a nice person. Why Shino freaked out is beyond me. I thought she was gonna tear me a new one! Like *flame* *burn* and me cryin like Nancy Kerrigen. Until then, enjoy some Richard CHeese and his lounge singing goodness. He doesn't make music...he makes crap. So he says. |

You could start a new look... Gothic Parrothead!
- dark silk hawiian shirt
- black cargo shorts
- bloody mary instead of a margrita or pina colada
Just thinking of the two styles together is about as mentally painful as hand calculating logarithms. |

LOOK. A topic for Sakura to arise upon! Mana is a guitarist, no where close to a singer. In fact, he never speaks. Or smiles. He's fun to cosplay. [fun used in a sarcastic manner. It's kind of hard being emotionless]
Anyways, the magazine you guys all speak of is Gothic Lolita Bible. Mana is usually featured in it because he does have his own store Moi meme Moitie.
You know, I really dig the fashion style. No, it's not for me really. I can't stand how a dress looks on me even though I wish I could wear one without gagging, but I love making them. They are gorgeous. I love making cute crowns and top hats. Yes, some of them are childish, but I lean a lot towards a more aristocratic side of the thing. The fashion is not for everyone, obviously.
Like, along with ganguros, I can't stand their fashion, but I have a heavy respect for them because they are the true rebellions in Japan because pale skin is favored and they are breaking the "society rules" by doing whatever.
The gothic lolita style is definitely something that is for certain people. Not everyone can pull it off. Actually, some Japanese think Westerns look better in the fashion because they think they look more like dolls in it [which I think is silly; a lot of Japanese look amazingly enough like porcelain dolls].
I don't have a hating or loving for it, but a respect for the fashion. I mean seriously, if someone in the states did something like that, people would think they are just dressing up in costumes. I enjoy making them, not wearing them. |

Actually they dress up like that in Germany as well. Sakura is right about it bein for certain people. I know damn well I can't pull of the GL style (they got stuffs for men. Seen it on Youtube) but I know a few who can. Certain styles fit certain people. Like I said before, certains styles look well on certain people. For me it's the "Jimmy Buffet" look. Although if I was a chick I would try the GL style. Just to be different.
Oh and thanks for clearing that about MANA Sakura. I thought he was a singer. Now I just remembered he used to be with Gackt. Dunno if he is still now. I kinda lost touch with the whole deal after my breakup. |

I would try the Victorian style if I was willing to spend about 500+ dollars nowadays for late 19th century type clothing which was typically silk and much more ornate than today's formalwear.
I would also have to get matching cufflinks. |
