Actually... You don't have to wait for Shino's half assed review! (Sorry dood, you set yourself up for that one...)
Here's a Clickie with gameplay of the game and a small explanation of some of the features. After watching it, I really wish I had it because it seems like there's a lot of stuff that you can do that they just don't mention. You need mana to do anything in the game, even turn your monster. It's pretty strategic, and some of the cards are awesome.
The 1st set will bring 110 cards. The bundle will bring a starter pack with 30 cards and a booster pack. Also, the software, the camera, the stand and the battle board.
It looked very interesting and I, for one, can't wait! But in the meantime, Naruto: Rise of the Ninja will come out for 360 and I am all over that! |

That interview was great and all, but a PR guy talking about his game doesn't hold as much weight as a CCG gamer and a Video Gamer playing the game and giving his thoughts.
Still a good video, but I don't think it will make Ming or Senkir jump on it right away. |

PRECISELY what I was getting at with my initial post.
On top of the fact that the PS3 is a very expensive console right now (at least it is for me)...card games are an expensive hobby to get into. And at this stage in the life of CCGs, pretty much everyone and their mother has one, and only a small percentage are actually successful. For example, pretty much every modern anime now has a CCG attached, and there was even a damn Bratz CCG! In order to get me (personally) to jump into a new game the game has to be at least as good and well-designed as Magic, which is pretty much the best benchmark that anyone can try to reach. So far, very few games have actually hit that mark (for me at least), and therefore I don't feel like investing money and time on them. Others hit that benchmark, but the genre or subject matter just doesn't interest me enough to make me want to invest, much like Vs.
On top of THAT, it's even more difficult and expensive to keep up with multiple CCGs. Right now, I'm in pretty much as deep as I can get with both Magic and World of Warcraft (which, by the way, is one of those games that really hits Magic's benchmark, and even exceeds it in some cases).
Sorry for the semi-rant that manifested itself here. In short, listen to Shino... |

The idea of the whole video is to give you an idea on how the game is played. You forget that everyone has different opinions and what Shino might consider great in the game, maybe Ming won't like. I thought that the interview and the gameplay was pretty good to make me want to play it. I did watch other videos, including one where they had a special card that had a rubber duck in it and it was hilarious.
So if Shino does make a review, he will just say how he sees the game. Maybe he will dislike something that I like. I personally don't pay too much attention to what people say about video games until I see gameplay myself. Like Halo 3 or Bioshock. How many people think that those games are great? I personally never liked Halo. Bioshock was good in the demo, but it's one of those games that will never motivate me into beating them. Unlike Ninja Gaiden which is hard as hellz and I still play it cuz I want to beat it.
I think the game is pretty innovative and it's simple, but yet it's gameplay goes a bit deeper than just putting a card down and attack. And yet, it's simple enough that anyone can just pick it up and play it.
If you already have 2 other CCG, you really don't need another one. Specially with World of Warcrack. Which I would totally toss out the window! (See what I was just talking about... opinion!)
There's another video around where one of the devs explain with great detail, but if you can't speak Japanese, I wouldn't recommend it.
So in short... I don't care what you guys say or do. I'll be getting it and playing it for a while. I'm already thinking of buying a booster pack every paycheck. I just hope they're pretty cheap. |

Aiman... Ming and I weren't trying to put down the fact that you liked the video. The video is great and gives you a good idea about what the game is.
What we were getting at is that Ming and I are more interested in what players think of the game. You are included in that.
And watching that video gives you an idea of how it is, but it won't necessarily ensure that you will like it.
In short, I like to hear what players think of the game. The PR guys are great to explain stuff, but that's about it. So for you to call my review "half assed" before I even make it is a little pretentious, don't you think.
I'm definitely buying the game as I think #1 the package is a great deal and #2, the card game itself looks both simple and deep at the same time. One of the things I like most about what I've heard about the game was something they didn't really explain in that video... the fact that you can flip the tiles with spells.
I have a feeling there will end up being a lot more to this game than we think. |

When I said half assed, I meant that as a joke. Since you said, "I'll post a review on it." And like I said, "You set yourself up for that one." Meaning you set yourself for the joke.
The thing that you are saying about what players think about something comes with opinion. And like I said before why care what other people think about the game when what I like may not be the same as what you like. That's the point I'm getting at. I really don't trust other people's opinion because I have bought games in the past that reviews on gaming sites and other people say to me, "Oh this game is awesome!" and I end up hating it and vice versa. Like the new 3D Worms games. I loved the old 2D style, but I also love the new 3D style and some people don't like that.
There's a lot they haven't mentioned about this game. Like spells and other stuff. But one thing I did like was that some cards have special effects, and they did show that on the video, like there's one that says, if you get hit, your card will turn. Which adds a lot to strategy because you have to be looking at the tile you're going to attack.
That's all I'm trying to say. |

All I'm trying to say is that I know and trust Shino's taste in CCGs, therefore I will wait to pass judgement until I hear his thoughts about the game. Is it his opinion? Yes. But fortunately, I tend to share the same opinion with him. |

Why is it that I can't find the cards at any actually card stores online?
The only places I can find the boosters... EBgames/Gamestop and Amazon. And they both have them for $3.99/pack instead of the MSRP $3.75. What's that about?
I only found 1 auction on ebay... a box of boosters at $105 + $10 shipping. Screw that.
Has anyone had any luck finding cards for the game? |
