R&C and Conan demos coming along with something a lot more interesting.
Everyday Shooter.
For those who don't know what this is... it's a dual stick shooter like Geometry Wars or Super Stardust HD.
Difference is that the focus of this game was made on the music. The music in the game blends in everything that actually happens in the game. When you destroy an enemy for instance... or even when you die. It adds tones to the music.
It has been getting great responses from previewers and best of all... the game was made by one guy. One independent developer. I'll definitely be supporting that!
1up did a really good piece on it. Check it out.

Anticipated indie PSN shooter just three days away.

Everyday Shooter, the PlayStation Network shooter conceptualized and crafted by independent developer Jonathan Mak, will be available from the PlayStation Store this Thursday, October 11, according to IGN. Everyday Shooter mixes Geometry Wars-esque gameplay elements with a wide array of visual effects and a guitar-based soundtrack for an experience we chose as one of our favorites from E3.
Expected to sell for $9.99, Everyday Shooter will join the previously announced Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction demo in the weekly PlayStation Store update, along with the PlayStation 3 version of THQ's Conan demo. Check out our in-depth preview for more on Mak's much-anticipated PSN exclusive. |

I played the Demo of Conan in Xbox. Looks good. It's challenging though. And they were like, "15 mins of gameplay in the demo!" That's bullshit. I played and died 5 times in the same part and I only played for 13 mins. |

I knew it came out on Live already... just haven't gotten around to downloading it yet.
I thought the game looked cool but herd it was pretty much ass.
I'll judge for myself after playing it though. |

I've heard its ass too, from reliable people. Nevermind, doesn't look like my kind of thing.
As for Everyday shooter, theres looking like quite a few things on the PSN that cater for my taste, much in the same way as theres more out now on the PAL VC on Wii than there is in store for Wii...
Probably best I have a 360 rather than those two consoles then. |

OK, I'm really happy about the stuff they dropped yesterday.
I downloaded:
Ratchet & Clank
Conan
Everyday shooter
and like 5 of the backgrounds they had up.
Ratchet & Clank. Wow... just... Wow. The game is visually stunning and the control is solid. I especially like that if you hold down L1, it turns into a 3rd person over the shoulder shooter with dual stick controls and R1 as fire. Good stuff. I'm even more excited about this game now that I played the demo. A must buy for any R&C fan and/or PS3 owner.
Conan. While I don't think it's Ass like I previously talked about... It's definitely not the best choice out there. This is something I would pick up when it hit the bargain bin. Especially with an Action game out with the quality of Heavenly Sword.
Everyday Shooter. So. Much. Fun. Man... I thought Stardust was it! EDS is right up there with SSHD! I love the chain system and the fact that it changes with each stage. The unlockables make me want to keep playing. The visuals... while not complicated, are still pretty freakin awesome. The Music/Sound... amazing. I LOVE the way everything blends in with the music. If you haven't bought this yet... it's definitely worth the $10. Not only b/c the game is quality, but ... the game was made by 1 freakin guy. We need more people making games like this on all of the downloadable services. Hopefully this is the doorway to that!
By the way... some may have had complaints about the Usability of the PSN store... all of the stuff I said I downloaded... I had them all in my queue within 2 minutes (8 items)... and that includes adding funds to my wallet for EDS. I just don't see what everyone's problem is with the Usability of the PSN store.
However, the download was ... slower than usual for me last night. Usually I'm downloading about 500kps... last night I was at around 200kps. |
